Similarly, Alexei mentions that his mum is also his inspiration. He does not remember the last time she missed a training session as she has always been there for him. He says she never missed a match, as he told ABC in 2017.

Alexei started to play tennis when he was only 4 years old at the Kim Warwick Tennis Academy located in Hornsby. And, when he was 8 years old, Alexei had to move to Dubai for his father’s work.
When he was in Dubai, his dad said he would miss the next two weeks to compete in a tournament in Croatia. And that was the beginning of his journey.

Alex Popyrin is an entrepreneur. The Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS) is an international individual tennis league that was first played in 2020.
This league was held in response to the disruption of the tennis season due to the COVID-19 pandemic as the whole world has to shut down and many have had to slow down the processes that they were making throughout the time.
At such times, when the tennis world was stuck, they thought that they could make things happen again. They believed this could change how everyone consumed tennis both in the short and long run.
So, with their belief, they started the league with 50 matches during five consecutive weekends. And with this initiative, they believed they could feed people’s appetite for tennis.
Alexei Popyrin Family Background
Alexei Popyrin has a brother named Anthony Popyrin and two sisters, Sonia Popyrin and Anna Popyrin. He is the eldest of them all.
When the family moved to Spain, they went to tournaments from Italy to Slovakia to Slovenia. And during those times, Alexei’s brother Anthony who is a year younger than him, would also be playing tournaments with him. Along with them, one of their sisters, Sonia, who was in kindergarten then, would also join them.
During that time, they rented houses for a week to stay with their mom, opting for the cheapest possible options.
Until now, he served as a ball boy during the 2009 Dubai Tennis Championships as well with Anthony. He also mentions that he doesn’t really notice at that time, but now looking back, he is so grateful for all the sacrifices they made to help him and his brother chase their dreams.

Alexei Popyrin has a girlfriend named Amy Pederick. Alexei and Amy have been in a relationship for more than three years.
Amy is a student in London studying Physiotherapy at Kings College. He also spent the coronavirus lockdown with her at the Mouratoglou Academy. Alexei could be seen posting photos with her on his Instagram account.
His latest post with Amy was in the UAE, as he spent a couple of days off with his partner. They stayed at Six Senses Zighy Bay, where the staff welcomed them.
Alexei and Amy spent their holiday cycling around the area and posted a video of them decorating the Christmas tree together.
Amy Pederick can also be spotted with Alexei on the court as he posted a few pictures in August 2022 as his girlfriend supported him at the US Open Tennis Championships. Alexei also posted photos with Amy wishing her an anniversary as they ticked off another year together.
Alexei barely misses showing off the love of his life as he could be seen wishing her on her birthday and Valentine’s day and also posting pictures as he gets to spend some time with his girl at any given moment, be it in Paris, New York, or London.
