Brandon Nakashima Brother Bryce Nakashima Plays Tennis For Ohio State

Brandon Nakashima brother Bryce Nakashima was a top 15 tennis recruit for Ohio State. Brandon grew up with Bryce in California. 

Born on August 3, 2001, Brandon aims to make it big in the tennis game. At such a young age, Brandon is getting lots of recognization for winning different tennis championships.

Listed Number 43 in the Tennis’s Single by the Associations of Tennis Professionals, Brandon is gaining much popularity. He has also been listed in the world’s career-high doubles ranking of No. 316. 

The 21-year-old made his World Team Tennis debut by competing with the Chicago Smash in 2020. Similarly, he has also played in other international tennis championships as well. 

In the ongoing 2023 Australian Open, Nakashima competed against Mackenzie McDonald in the first round. However, Brandon was defeated.

Brandon Nakashima brother Bryce Nakashima is also a tennis player who plays for Ohio State since October 2022. 

Nakashima started playing tennis professionally when he was fourteen years old. He started training with Angel Lopez, the Director of Tennis at San Diego. 

On Father’s Day 2021, Angel shared a picture of him coaching tennis with his student Bryce. He mentioned that Bryce is really dedicated and loves working with him.

Similarly, he has also worked with Sebastian Bader, who he mentioned has created a big impact on his life. In 2020, he won 16s L2 against Woody Hunt at Barnes Tennis Centre, while being coached by Bader.

Currently, he is working with Christian Groh.

Bryce Nakashima Tennis Career

A California native, Bryce got signed in the top 15 recruits to a national letter of intent. Just like his older sibling, he had a fantastic moment in 2022. 

Last year, he was a participant at the US Opens Junior, along with another tennis event where he reached the doubles finals as well. In March, he successfully won the doubles title at the 15K event in Cancun.

Nakashima was also a first runner-up at 15K in Lakewood, California. Ahead of July 2022, Bryce also started to compete in the US Opens Junior.

Who is Bryce Nakashima?

Bryce Nakashima is three years younger than his elder sibling Brandon.

Brandon Nakashima Family

Brandon Nakashima family origin traces to Japanese and Vietnamese roots. They later relocated to San Diego.

His father Wesley is Japanese American and was born and raised in California. His mom on the other hand is from Vietnam but she moved to the States when she was five years old. 

Both of the parents work as a pharmacist and they are pretty supportive of their boys.

Brandon started playing tennis when he was three years old. His grandfather used to take him around the parks to practice and later on he turned the hobby into his career. 

The family is really proud of their boys for having big achievements at such a young age.
