Cito Gaston Family Life, Parents And Siblings Details
Cito Gaston was born to an African-American family in San Antonio, Texas.
His parents, Sammy Gaston and Gertrude Coley, raised him in San Antonio and Corpus Christi. Cito’s birth name given by his parents was Clarence Edwin Gaston. However, the former Padres star chose to go by his nickname “Cito” as opposed to his real name, “Clarence.”
Gaston subsequently explained to announcers for the Toronto Blue Jays that he had gotten the moniker from a Mexican-American wrestler he had observed when he was a young man living in Texas.
