American football quarterback, Haynes King is a Texas A&M Aggies football team member.

Longview High School, located in Longview, Texas, was where King received his education. He was a senior when he was chosen to participate in the Under Armour All-American Game in 2020. He has given Texas A&M University a verbal commitment to play college football for them in the future.

During King’s first year at Texas A&M in 2020, he served as Kellen Mond’s backup quarterback and participated in two games. Ahead of the 2021 campaign, he was tabbed to serve as the starting quarterback for the team.

On September 11, while playing against Colorado, King was injured in the lower right leg during a scramble in the first quarter. Because of his injury, he could not continue playing and was replaced by sophomore Zach Calzada for the remainder of the game.

The head coach of the team, Jimbo Fisher, announced the following Monday after the match that King had fractured his leg and would be out indefinitely due to the injury.

King, born in Longview, Texas, was the fifth-ranked dual-threat quarterback in the 2020 recruiting class.

King attended Longview High School. During his first career start, which took place in September of last year against the Golden Flashes, King completed 21 of 33 passes for a total of 292 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions.

King, a third-year sophomore, defeated LSU transfer Max Johnson and five-star prospect Conner Weigman in a duel for the job over the offseason. King won the challenge.

A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher stated in July that King could hit 22 miles per hour on A&M’s GPS tracker during practice while also maintaining a constant speed in the 21-mph area.
