Born in Canterbury, Kent, on the 29th of August 1950, the former athlete made his debut for Kent at Hesketh Park, Dartford, in the 1972 County Championship against Warwickshire.

Peter made seventeen first-class appearances for the county; the last was against Middlesex in the 1975 County Championship. Likewise, the former cricketer made three List A appearances for Kent in the game against Glamorgan (1972), Derbyshire (1973), and Worcestershire (1975). And after retiring from cricket, he worked as a driving instructor in Canterbury.
