There is no relation between Billy Napier and Ben Napier, despite the fact that many fans would want to believe that there is such a relationship.

The only thing these two individuals have in common is their last names. Ben Napier is originally from Laurel, Mississippi, whereas Billy Napier is from the state of Florida.

Matt Napier, Kurt Napier, and Whitney Releford are the names of Billy’s two brothers and sister, respectively. On the other hand, Ben is the youngest of three children; his older brothers and sister are named Sam, Tom, and Jesse Napier.

All of these factors contribute to the conclusion that Billy Napier and Ben Napier are unrelated.

Billy Napier is the son of Bill and Pam Napier, born in Cookeville, Tennessee.

Billy was a standout quarterback for Murray County High School in Chattahoochee, Georgia, his birthplace, where he played under his father, his head coach. 

Billy’s father was born and raised in the town of Celina, Tennessee. Both of his parents had degrees from Tennessee Tech, and his mother’s family owned a tobacco farm in Sparta, which is located in Tennessee. His entire family was rabid Tennessee Volunteers supporters.

His father, Bill Napier, who passed away on September 26, 2017, was his hero. Bill served at the First Baptist Church in Chatsworth, Georgia, a community of around 5,000 people in Georgia close to the state boundary with Tennessee.

Bill was the de facto emotional monarch of the community, and he and Pam were responsible for raising four children there.

The quarterback position was one of Bill Napier’s areas of expertise, and one of his most successful football inventions was Bill Napier’s oldest son.

Billy’s Father Was Always There For Him

Bill was there for his son as he navigated the difficult early years of his professional life. Billy was never at a loss for what direction to go, whether it was from Clemson to South Carolina State to Alabama to Colorado State to Alabama to Arizona State.

His Father Had ALS

Then, in 2013, when the family was on vacation, Bill gathered everyone together. He claimed to have amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often known as Lou Gehrig’s illness, which is a neurological ailment.

In addition to his role as a driver’s education teacher, Bill Napier took on the offensive coordinator role at Dalton High. He continued doing that until he could no longer fit into the passenger seat.

Bill navigated the course of practice with the assistance of a golf cart. As his health went on deteriorating, he began to call plays while seated in a wheelchair. He established a scholarship endowment that has since been used to assist Murray County athletes in pursuing higher education.

Bill had no intention of playing the role of a hero. He only desired to carry on living the life that he cherished. But through this, Billy gained a completely fresh understanding of what it means to be tough.

Having a relationship with his father influenced Billy’s coaching style. He stated that his father had instilled in him the belief that people are the most important aspect of life.

Billy Napier has two brothers and one sister. Matt, Kurt, and Whitney are the names of his three siblings.

Matt Napier

Matt Napier has been the head football coach at Callaway High School for the past 14 years. He lives in the city of LaGrange, which is located in Georgia. He previously worked as an assistant for Bill Napier, and now he serves as the offensive coordinator for Pete Wiggins, the head coach.

After playing football at Murray County for four years and two years at West Georgia, Matt was the defensive coordinator for the Callaway football team for most of the time since. During that time, the team made three trips to the Class 2A state playoffs for football.

Kurt Napier

The youngest of the three sons is named Kurt Napier. After graduating from Murray County High School in 2004, Kurt attended Truman State University in Missouri, where he played football, before moving to Tusculum University in Greenville, Tennessee, where he completed his undergraduate studies.

After a few other jobs, including working with Matt for five years at Callaway, Kurt ultimately decided to take a job as the head coach at Gladden Middle School in Chatsworth, despite his initial lack of confidence in the position.

Since then, Kurt and his wife Tiffany have become parents to a second child, a girl named Amelia. He stated that he is delighted to once again live as an Indian. His first batch of Gladden kids is now juniors and seniors at the high school they attended.

Whitney Napier

The only sister Billy has, Whitney, is also the youngest of all siblings. Whitney is the only one who did not graduate from Murray County.

She continued her education at the University of Georgia after attending Southeast Whitfield, where her father coached briefly. Whitney spent the initial three years of her career studying teaching before pivoting.

After spending her childhood with both of her parents working in the field of education, Whitney decided to go ahead with a career in marketing. She is now working as a regional merchandiser for the handbag firm Kate Spade.

The oldest Napier child, Billy Napier, was born in Cookeville, Tennessee. 

He seized an early opportunity to coach in college and is now in his first head coaching role at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he has built on his previous experience.

According to Billy, Lafayette’s dynamic and down-to-earth atmosphere brings back fond memories of his childhood playing baseball for his father at Murray County.

Napier excelled as a quarterback for Murray County High School in Chatsworth, Georgia, his hometown and the city where he was raised. The player’s father served as the team’s head coach. In 1997, he was selected for All-State and offered a football scholarship to play at Furman University. He accepted the scholarship.

During his tenure with the Furman Paladins, he participated in four different seasons and earned four other letters. During his college years, Billy was the starting quarterback for the team.

Currently, he is working at the University of Florida as the head coach for the football team. Billy was the University of Louisiana’s head coach at Lafayette from 2017 until 2021.

While he was head coach, Billy compiled a record of 40–12 throughout four seasons, including three consecutive seasons with 10+ wins and two seasons that finished in the AP Poll—both of which were firsts in the history of the programs. 

Ali Napier is married to Billy Napier, and the couple has had three offspring together.

Annie Napier is one of his children, along with his sons Sammy Nelson Napier and Charlie Napier. He also has a daughter named Sammy Nelson Napier.

On July 19, 2008, the pair broke the news that they were engaged. They exchanged their vows in the same year in front of family and friends at the Charles Ezra Memorial Chapel on the campus of Furman University.

The website for Furman University states that Billy and Ali first became acquainted at an orientation session. The closer they spent their lives together, the greater their connection became.

According to the information provided on the website, Ali was not permitted to drive when he was living in the Montage Village condo. However, she was finally able to meet Billy thanks to a mutual friend between the two of them.

Before her marriage to Billy, Ali was raised with the surname Gunn and was the daughter of Jolene Gunn and Allison Marie Gunn.

In 1999, Ali graduated from Gainesville High School with her high school diploma. She attended Furman University in Greenville, where she received a Bachelor of History degree, beginning her studies there in 2003.

They were born identical twins, together with their sister Jenny Gunn Littlejohn. According to the website for Furman University, Ali and her sister did not want to attend the same school because they did not want to be judged against one another based on their academic achievements.

Despite this, they met and fell in love while attending the same institution. None of the sisters spent more than a week at their new school before running across their respective eventual spouses.

Most recently, Ali has been participating in volunteer work and working in social work. She had previously organized a fundraising event for the neurological ailment known as hydrocephalus, as seen in one of his postings on Facebook.

In addition, the wife of the coach for the Florida Gators recently made a contribution of school supplies to a fundraising event that was hosted at Lake Forest Elementary School.

In the past, Ali Napier had put up a charity event to support the organization’s cause, which is working to discover a treatment for the neurological condition known as hydrocephalus.

The condition does not receive much attention in the mainstream media, even though it is one of the most lethal if it is not treated. When fluid accumulation in the ventricles deep within the brain is abnormal, a condition known as hydrocephalus can develop.

As per estimates and reports, around eighty percent of those affected by this neurological disorder do not make it to maturity. The epidemic sickness prevalent in Africa and Latin America has claimed the lives of thousands of individuals, most of whom were children.

In 2019, Ali raised the necessary amount of money for the Hydrocephalus Association by holding a fundraiser on her Facebook page. This event was deemed a success because it received the appropriate donations.

From his new post as head coach with the Gators in 2021, Billy Napier’s previous compensation was more than tripled. He is now one of the coaches with the highest income in the Southeastern Conference.

Napier was given a seven-year, $51.8 million contract by UF, which will pay him a total of $7.1 million at the end of the deal in 2022 and raise his annual salary by $100 thousand.

Only Nick Saban of Alabama ($9.75 million), Jimbo Fisher of Texas A&M ($9 million), incoming LSU coach Brian Kelly ($8.6 million), and Kirby Smart of Georgia ($7.13 million) are expected to make more in the SEC season.

Each year, Napier is qualified to receive performance incentives worth up to a maximum of $1,500,000. If the College Football Playoff grows, the two parties have agreed to negotiate in good faith to determine necessary adjustments.

The salaries of Napier’s ten full-time assistant football coaches are covered by a yearly pay pool of $7,500,000. Additionally, he has a wage pool for other football support staff workers, such as recruitment personnel, equal to five million dollars annually.

Along with providing transportation for high-level guest speakers to on-campus programs and activities, Napier and his coaching staff have access to private air transportation. This enables them to participate in recruiting, professional development, and appearances at high school coaching clinics.

Additionally, Napier is provided with the use of UF/UAA aircraft for business purposes and the opportunity to utilize UAA aircraft for personal reasons at a value of up to $70,000 each year.
