Tellier began competing in pageants in 1997 after the mother of her boyfriend at the time persuaded her to enter Miss Vendée 1997. She went on to win the crown, qualifying her for Miss Pays de la Loire 1997, a Miss France qualifying pageant. Tellier finished as the first runner-up to Caroll Parfait, the winner.
Tellier decided to return to pageantry four years after winning Miss Vendée. Tellier, who now lives in Lyon, competed in Miss Lyon in 2001 and won the title. Tellier qualified for Miss France in 2002 immediately as Miss Lyon.
