A graduate of Jacksonville University, Cargill previously earned a degree in social sciences. She holds a master’s degree in child psychology but chose not to pursue it as a career as the itch for wrestling got the best of her.

And while working on her psychology degree at Jacksonville University, Jade was also a well-respected basketball player. Jade said in an interview that Todd Moyer, the strength and conditioning coach at Jacksonville helped her become a better player and instilled discipline in her which has helped her far into her career.

Jade Cargill and the former second baseman of the Boston Red Sox, Brandon Phillips, have been in a relationship since 2015. The love birds share many things in common apart from being just athletes. 

The then-21-year-old Jade had started modeling when she met Brandon, and her manager at the time was a childhood friend of the former MLB player. 

And their first meeting with each other was no less than a scene from a rom-com as the two crossed paths while Cargill was walking out the door, and Brandon couldn’t help but ask who she was.

Seven years into their relationship, the couple is still going strong, with Jade describing Brandon’s personality as a goofy, fun-loving man. And though the two have an age gap of 11 years, they have not let it affect their romance whatsoever.

Though the two have not tied the knot, Jade and Brandon share a beautiful daughter named Bailey Quinn. In an interview with Landscape, Cargill said her daughter, Bailey, 5, is her biggest fan.

Jade and Brandon welcomed their only daughter, Bailey, to the world on April 18, 2017. The wrestler has shared several photos with her cute daughter on her social media handle.

But there was a point where Jade thought that her being pregnant could have ended her career. Jade thought with her athletic body gone, she could never compete again as a wrestler but watching fitness trainer Massy Arias gave her inspiration to follow her dreams.

Jade Cargill comes from an athletic family. Jade grew up watching her cousin Peter Cargill dominate the world of soccer during the 1980s and 1990s in their home country Jamaica.

Peter passed away in 2005 and was a well-respected soccer player. Jade’s brother played football during high school, and her sister was a cheerleader.

And before becoming a phenomenal wrestler, Jade was known for her hooping skills. The AEW wrestler played AAU basketball and tried her hands and legs in volleyball and track and field.

She continued her basketball journey at Jacksonville University and was the favorite player of her coaches.

In an interview with The Players Tribune, Jade revealed that her family is Jamaican. The wrestler is the first generation American with her family also being huge wrestling fans.

Last year on Twitter, Cargill tweeted saying she wanted to see more Jamaican flags on heritage night at AEW and confirmed that she is indeed a Jamaican.

Jade’s family shifted to Gifford, Florida, where she grew up alongside her two siblings. The wrestler said in an interview that her mother was an old-school wrestling fan but is not too into the new age of wrestling. 

In the beginning, Mrs. Cargill couldn’t understand what she was watching and particularly didn’t love the costumes her daughter wore during the fight nights. But Jade did her best to explain, and later Mrs. Cargill started loving them and nowadays tries her best up keep up with the storylines.
