Jayden de Laura, an American footballer, is the firstborn son of his parents, Jacob and Malinda de Laura. They raised him in Honolulu, Hawaii. 

His mother and father are the authentic sources of inspiration and motivation for him to push himself farther in life. Laura had a lot of luck on his side as he worked his way up through the football leagues in his hometown and eventually became the best player there.

The 21-year-old sophomore currently has a contract with the University of Arizona and plays at the Quarterback (QB) position. On January 7, 2021, after the season had concluded, De Laura submitted his name into the transfer portal.

Three days later, he made public his decision to join the University of Arizona (Arizona Wildcats football) after having previously stated his desire to attend another university. 

On November 13, 2022, The Wildcats got the defining win of the Jedd Fisch era with a victory against UCLA Bruins after a stellar performance by Jayden de Laura. After the win, he went straight to the fans to celebrate a 28-34 victory against UCLA Bruins in NCAA Football.

Jayden de Laura Parents: Mom Malinda And Dad Jacob de Laura

Jayden de Laura was born to his parents, mom Malinda de Laura and dad Jacob de Laura, on August 11, 2001.

The elevating Wildcat quarterback was born and raised in the suburbs of Honolulu, Hawaii. But his locality was not ideal for breeding a class player. Nevertheless, with his parents’ help, he could get through.

However, not many are fortunate as him. Jacob’s father pointed out that where they reside, Pālolo Valley Housing is not conducive to developing and improving any athlete’s talents.

When a person gets entangled in the web of life in their home, there is no escape and no hope for their future. The crime and drug use level is consistent with that of the fictional Gotham City in real life.

“It’s easy to get caught up in the lifestyle here, and many kids really don’t make it. He was lucky, and I don’t think he takes that for granted.” Jacob said about Jayden being the lucky one to flee the unappreciative lifestyle of their birthplace.

De Laura, who stands 6 feet tall and weighs 190 pounds, concluded his junior football playing career at Washington State, where he threw for 3,688 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 13 intervenes.

During those two years, he was the starting quarterback for the Cougars football team. In 2021, the Pac-12 Conference Athletic Directors selected him as their Offensive Rookie of the Year.

When the 21-year-old gave his name in the NCAA football transfer portal by the end of last year, he did not tell anyone at first. Instead, Jayden called his father, Jacob, to break the news while Jacob was in the shower. 

“I remember waking up in the morning, and I didn’t tell anybody. I entered the portal, and I called my dad. I told him I entered the portal, and he was like, ‘What?!”,

QB Jayden de Laura Has Two Younger Brothers, Jayson and Jayxen

Jayden de Laura is the first of three offspring of his parents. He has two younger brothers, Jayson and Jayxen.

Alongside his two siblings, Jayden received his early education at Damien Memorial School in Honolulu. Both of his brothers, Jayson and Jayxen, have aspirations of playing professional football. 

After playing in the school’s junior varsity team in almost every position, de Laura made the decision. He went to Saint Louis School to concentrate only on his career as a quarterback. His brothers were fully supportive of his decision back then.

Following his detention for driving a vehicle while under the influence of liquor in February 2021 in Pullman, De Laura was immediately expelled from the football squad for an undetermined period. On July 29, 2021, a judge ruled that he did not commit the crime.

Throughout the four months while De Laura was in the lockup waiting for the court date, his brothers Jayson and Jayxen helped him and gave him hope for the otherwise dark football career he was about to have.

The 21-year-old QB Jayden has an uncle Mel de Laura, a former football player who was a wide receiver at Hawai’i.

Besides his parents and two brothers, his uncle has also guided him with his decision-making early in his career. Mel de Laura played wide receiver for the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors football team during his career.

Mel eventually became the head coach of the squad as well. He was given the position of strength and conditioning coach at Southern Methodist University (SMU), where he would work under the direction of coach June Jones.

He speaks highly of Jayden and wants him to succeed in every career phase. Like the Sophomore’s parents, his uncle Mel also wishes to see Jayden play in National Football League (NFL) one day.
