5 Facts On Junie Browning Brother Rob Browning From UFC And MMA

Junie Browning and his brother Rob Browning gripped MMA fans with their antics in the late 2010s. The Browning brothers were known for their trash-talking.

Rob Browning, age 36, is a former MMA fighter. The American athlete previously used to compete in the bantamweight class. 

The younger brother of the controversial UFC fighter came to fame as he featured alongside his brother in the show, The Ultimate Fighter

The last time we heard about Junie Browning, he was almost killed by a crowd in Phuket after he engaged in a brawl in a local bar.

Rob Browning seems to have vanished from the face of the earth, as he hasn’t been seen since he appeared in the ninth season of TUF.

1.Rob Browning Was Knocked Out In His First Ever Match

In his first-ever match in season 9 of TUF, Rob Browning was knocked out by Jason Dent. Known for being a trash talker, Rob certainly didn’t practice what he preached. 

The video of him getting knocked out by Dent went viral in 2020. The Facebook page UFC Fight Pass shared the bout between the two fighters which was featured in the show nine years ago.

The match lasted for over a four-minute, with Browning looking ever so miserable against Dent. In the end, the referee had to stop the match, as Rob had been pinned down by Dent throwing a barrage of punches at him.

Unlike his brother, who made it to the semi-finals of the show in season 8, Rob got eliminated even before the first round began. 

2. Rob Browning Has Only Win In His Entire MMA Career

Rob Browning’s only win came against Ryan Thompson. The match was played on June 2, 2009, in the UMMAXX7 “Out of the Cage” event.

A video of the match is available on YouTube with the Kentucky native, Rob, making Ryan tap out within three minutes of the match.

The fight was nothing extraordinary, and it was just two amateur fighters with below-par moves going head to head. The fight didn’t do much for their careers, as Rob lost his next two matches, which also spelled an end to his career.

After the match ended, there was sportsmanship at the display, which was highly unusual for the man who introduced himself in the first episode of TUF9 by throwing eggs.

3. Rob Browning Introduced Himself By Throwing Eggs

In the season opener of the ninth installment of The Ultimate Fighter, Rob Browning introduced himself to other contestants by throwing eggs at them.

The little brother of Junie Browning kept up with his brother’s antics from last season as he terrorized the other contestants by egging them on in the first episode.

Rob, who was drunk at the time, egged the other contestants as they were playing basketball. He further went on to disturb them while they were enjoying a game of snooker.

Rob went on to provoke one of the contestants, challenging him to a brawl there and then. At the end of the episode, Rob said he wasn’t there to socialize and make friends and said fans of the show wouldn’t like him if he stayed for six weeks.

So for the sake of people watching the show he eliminated himself by losing in his very first game.

4. Rob Browning Has Been Searching For His Brother

According to a Twitter user, Rob Browning has been searching for his brother Junie Browning. The tweet was made nine months ago in March by a user named Derek Hall.

In the tweet, Derek stated that he had contacted Rob, who informed him that he was trying to reach his brother for about six months but hadn’t heard from him.

Derek also states that Junie was last seen in the Florida Keys area. Junie’s career post-TUF had been in a downfall. He was charged with assaulting nurses in 2009 and was later wanted in Thailand.

Junie last played in MMA in 2016, which ended up in his favor after he knocked out Jeremy Myers in the HRMMA-Hardrock event.

5. Rob Browning Was Trying To Sober Up In 2013

In an interview with Rocky Ashby in 2013, Robert Browning said he was recovering from addiction. The former MMA fighter also said he was looking to make a comeback to the ring in the next six months.

Looking at the video, Rob was certainly not in the best possible shape. It was Rocky who recommended Rob to the rehab center, where the interview took place.

The former MMA fighter and the interviewer also talked briefly about their fighting journey and connected on the fact of how dangerously unfit they had become at one point. 

Rocky ended the video by asking Rob, who was the toughest fighter he fought against. After thinking for a while, Rob answered by taking the name of Robert Walker. He was one of his opponents from his amateur fights.
