Kaitlyn Lawes Partner Stephan Vigier Is A Hockey Player From Notre Dame

Kaitlyn Lawes partner Stephan Vigier plays hockey for Lillehammer IK who previously played for Stavanger Oilers.

Vigier is a Canadian professional ice hockey player from Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba. He was born on January 4, 1990, and is 32 years old. 

He played in the center position and was a 1st round pick in the 2005 MJHL Bantam Draft. Swan Valley Stampeders selected him in the early days of his career.

Stephan played at the Stampeders for two seasons (from 2006 to 2008) in his rookie years in 64 matches. However, within a brief time at the club, he was able to showcase his skills and ability.

In 2008, Stephan earned three MJHL Rookie of the Month awards, was named to the MJHL Rookie All-Star Team, and was named the MJHL Player of the Year by the Canadian Junior Hockey League.

In 2010, Vigier leaped at his career as he debuted in the NCAA ice hockey league with Northern Michigan University. He was committed to the club for four years, from 2010 to 2014. 

Then he joined South Carolina Stingrays and played in ECHL for a season before moving to San Antonio Rampage on loan for the 2014-15 season. Vigier moved to the Norwegian league and signed for Lillehammer IK in 2016.

Vigier joined Stavanger Oilers for the 2018-19 season. He played 48 teams with the Oilers and scored 17 goals with 27 assists.

He returned to Lillehammer the following season before joining Los Angeles Kings in the National Hockey League (NHL).

Kaitlyn and Stephan’s started dating from the year 2017.

The two times Olympic gold medal winner Lawes shared the first-ever picture of her and Stephan on Instagram in August 2017.

Vigier played in Norway with Lillehammer in 2017, and Lawes would occasionally pay a visit to him during his games when she was off her games. She posted photos of herself and Stephan skating on a lake in Lillehammer, Norway, in December of the same year, along with images of her pals.

In February 2018, on Valentine’s Day, Lawes was in Gangneung-si, South Korea, for the Winter Olympics with Stephan.

A few months after the 2018 Winter Olympics, Lawes and Vigier went on a holiday near a riverside where they enjoyed fishing, boating, swimming, and paddle boarding.

Similarly, in December 2018, the couple went to Venice, Italy, to celebrate Christmas. “Happy Holidays from us crazy kids. Having so much fun exploring and eating our way around Venice,” the Canadian curler penned on her Instagram.

Lawes went back to Norway to attend one of Stephen’s ice hockey games in June 2019. She shared a shot of two holding hockey sticks in the rink of Lillehammer IK.

On Stephen Vigier’s 30th birthday, Lawes uploaded a long captioned post on Instagram with dozens of pictures extracted from their relationship memory vault.

The couple got engaged on December 16, 2020. Kaitlyn shared a picture with him where she was showing an engagement ring. She ascribed she was the luckiest and happiest girl in the world.

The love birds announced they were expecting a baby in August when Lawes was in the 23rd week of pregnancy. They kept it a secret the whole time. But as the baby bump grows larger, it becomes hard to keep it under the rug.

Similarly, a month ago, in November, she posted an emotional video of her love life from the start to the pregnancy. She was in the 35th week, and the baby is expected to arrive in early December.

Stephan has kept his Instagram account private.

Vigier, the Canadian ice hockey player for Lillehammer, has more than 1.5K followers on his Instagram @svigier40 and 71 posts. 

His bio writes, “Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba / Los Angeles Kings”. In the first part of his bio, Notre Dame is the place where he was born in 1990. On the other hand, his soulmate Kaitlyn was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Vigier joined the NHL side Los Angeles Kings after he departed from Lillehammer. Many wonders if Stephan is related to a former professional ice hockey right winger, J. P. Vigier. The answer is yes. He is the cousin of NHL legend J. P. Vigier.
