Michael Wacha Met Wife Sarah Wacha At A Bar In 2014

Michael Wacha wife Sarah Wacha is the coordinating director of the Prom Series. Michael and Sarah share a daughter.

Michael and Sarah have been married for two years and had their wedding on November 28, 2020, during the pandemic.

Though the two met in a bar, they aren’t the ones you would catch partying. The couple is fairly low-key and needed to navigate long distance relationship for several years before the pitcher went down on one knee in his hometown of Texas.

With Sarah being part of the Prom Series, the non-profit organization, she has tried her absolute best to involve many other wives in MLB to support the movement. She brought the Prom Series to Boston when Michael signed with the Red Sox in 2022.

And now the better half of Michael Wacha might have to get ready to welcome another team in another town as it looks like Michael will have to bid goodbye to his teammate Rafael Devers as Minnesota Twins are knocking at his door.

Michael and Sarah started dating in 2014 and married six years later on November 28, 2020.

The two are one of many couples in MLB who had to navigate long distances in the early stages of their relationships. The experienced pitcher met his life partner in 2014 when he came to St Louis after having one of the best rookie seasons.

Two years before their meeting, Wacha had been drafted by St Louis Cardinals in the 2012 MLB draft in the first round, and by 2013 he was promoted to MLB and won the NLCS MVP Award.

Michael had already earned a bit of fanfare in St Louis and visited a bar with his teammate looking for downtime. So when he walked into that bar in St Louis, he certainly didn’t walk in searching for love.

Sarah was present at the bar with her friends when their eyes locked. The couple says it was an instant connection. The pitcher later bought a drink for Sarah, and the two played shuffleboard.

Sarah earned a degree in elementary education from the University of Arizona in 2015 and later earned her master’s degree, which made it possible for her to teach ESL students from kindergarten to grade 12.

After dating for six years, the couple decided to tie the knot on November 28, 2020, during the COVID pandemic in Jupiter, Florida, in their backyard, which was completely different from what they had planned to do.

The couple exchanged their vows with only 15 family members in the presence compared to 300 who would have been there to congratulate the newlyweds if it weren’t for the pandemic.

Currently, Sarah is the coordinating director of a nonprofit organization called Prom Series. The organization was started by the MLB player Daniel Murphy’s wife, Tori Murphy, and supports foster teens across US.

Sarah has taken the series wherever she went with Michael, whether in Tampa Bay Rays or Boston Red Sox. The former teacher has made many other wives of baseball players more involved with the campaign.

A few weeks later, the couple organized a ‘gender reveal party as they discovered they would be parents to a precious princess. Amidst all this, Michael and Sarah shifted to Boston as the pitcher signed with the Red Sox.

His new team threw a baby shower party at Fenway Park for Sarah and all the new mamas. A month before the delivery, Sarah visited her hometown in St Louis and promised next time, they would be coming as a family of three.

Baby Marcia celebrated her first Christmas in Jupiter, Florida, with her parents and her new year in Texarkana, Texas, the hometown of her father, where he was raised.

Marcia is yet to experience her first MLB game in a stadium. So it’s for sure that we will see Marcia in a baseball stadium rooting for her dad, but only time will tell which one it will be.
