According to CBC News, the man who stabbed a mother and her two daughters on Monday night is the son of the family’s next-door neighbor. He also had love feelings for one of the victims and had only recently been charged with stalking and sexual assault against another lady.

One of the victims was a potential love interest for Joshua Graves, who was killed by police after being warned not to contact her.

According to court documents, Joshua Graves was charged on June 24 with three counts of criminal harassment, assault, and sexual assault. He allegedly stalked a separate lady he went to school with from March to June of this year.

Unproven allegations claim that he routinely followed the woman, made attempts to communicate with her, and even made an attempt to kiss her.

Joshua Graves was ordered to live with his mother Emily Graves at a different house and not return to prison, according to a copy of his release order.

Anne Marie Ready And Catherine Ready Stabbing Incident

Jasmine Ready, 15, who just completed Grade 10 at the French Catholic high school Franco-Cité, and her mother Anne-Marie Ready, 50, a trade commissioner at Global Affairs, have been identified as the fatalities by Ottawa police.

The family’s 19-year-old eldest daughter, Catherine Ready, survived both the stabbing and being shot at by police. She had graduated from Franco-Cité the year before, according to the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est.

What Was The Cause Of Shooting In Anoka Street Ottawa?

Police were dispatched to 1273 Anoka Street on Monday night before 10:30 p.m. after receiving a 911 call from the house where screaming could be heard.

The patrol officers found Graves stabbing Catherine Ready on the sidewalk when they got there. According to early evidence provided by Ontario’s police watchdog, the Special Investigations Unit, they told him to put down the knife (SIU).

Three different patrol officers opened fire on Graves when he disobeyed such commands. At the scene, Graves was pronounced deceased. In order to treat her several gunshots and stabbing wounds, Catherine Ready was brought to the hospital.

Her mother and sister’s bodies were discovered nearby by the police.
