Paul Atherton and Thomas Heaney are two men who are charged with the murder of Ryan Harvey, who was killed in an assault.

On Thursday, June 30, 2022, the Blackpool police and detectives from the Force Major Investigation Team arrested the two suspects. 

Ryan Harvey Killers Charged With Murder In Blackpool

Paul Atherton and Thomas Heaney have been successfully taken into custody for killing Ryan Harvey.

On Saturday, June 26, 2022, Harvey was assaulted in Central Drive, Blackpool. He died on Tuesday, suffering from a critical head injury.

A post-mortem examination determined that 22-year-old Ryan died as a result of blunt head trauma.

Following the police investigation, Paul Atherton was arrested at the scene, while a second per had fled the area. However, the authorities have successfully identified Heaney as an assaulter as well. He was charged with the murder following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service. 

Heaney is scheduled to appear in the Blackpool Magistrates’ Courts on Friday, July 1, 2022. Meanwhile, the court had already charged Atherton on Monday. 

Who Are Paul Atherton And Thomas Heaney?

Paul Atherton and Thomas Heaney are the killers of 22-year-old Ryan Harvey.

According to the Blackpool police, Heaney is charged with murder and Sec 47 assault. Similarly, Heaney, arrested at the scenes has been charged with murder, section 18 wounding, section 47 wounding, two-section 39 assaults, and possession of an offensive weapon.

As per the provided description, Atherton is a 36-year-old man. He is from Knowsley Crescent, Thornton Cleveleys.

Similarly, Heaney is 32 years old and is a native of Cross Street, Fleetwood.

Ryan Harvey’s Parents’ Details

As per the description provided by Harvey’s family members, he was a very compassionate guy. The family is based in Walsall. 

Ryan was a big supporter of the Walsall Football Club. 

The family was absolutely heartbroken to hear about his death. They said: “Our little Ryan was a bubbly lad who would do anything for anyone,” in an added statement. 

Temporary Det Chief Insp Rach Higson says: “A young man has lost his life following this incident and my thoughts remain with Ryan’s family and friends at this time.”

“While we have now charged two people in connection with our investigation our inquiries are very much ongoing. I am really grateful to everyone who has helped with our investigation up to now and I would continue to appeal to anyone who has any information to come forward and contact us.”
