He took his sister, Christina, in his first major tennis award ceremony in 2014. The three siblings share a tight-knit bond, and the two older siblings, Christina and Pan, couldn’t be much prouder of their youngest brother.

In the ongoing Adelaide International, Thanasi is looking for hometown glory as he powered through the semi-final beating the no.6 Miomir Kecmanovic, and has scheduled a match with Spanish player Robert Bautista Agut.

Last year in the same tournament, Thanasi won his first maiden ATP Title, and the 26-year-old would love to repeat it.

Christina tied the knot with her husband, Wil De Souza, on December 12, 2018, and despite the height difference, the pair certainly make a cute couple.

After seeing that nothing fruitful would come out of playing with rackets, Pan decided to switch to football. At the time, Pan was also completing his civil and structural engineering degree from the University of Adelaide.

In an interview with Adelaide Now in 2013, Pan said he wanted to make the switch as he was having a hard time maintaining his tennis career while simultaneously doing a part-time job.

Panayioti, at the time, played football for the SANFL reserve games for South Adelaide and was looking to get full preseason for the Panthers. Though there isn’t much detail on how the football career panned out for Panayioti, it looks like he was made more for the corporate side.

In 2015, Pan gave an interview on the YouTube channel of South Adelaide Football Club, where he talked about his brother and their childhood. Pan revealed that the two were highly competitive in playing tennis.

He credited his younger sibling’s success to his coach and their dad. Pan also admitted that once he realized he couldn’t take his athletic career to the next level decided to step away from the game. Nonetheless, Pan said he was happy seeing his brother achieve the deserved success on the court.

Their sister and the middle child of the family, Christina, is as athletic as them. She has run marathons and loves playing golf with her husband, Will de Souza. All three siblings were let to pursue their passion and make a name for themselves in their respective fields by their supportive parents, Trevor and Voula.

Kokkinakis Father And Mother Hold Greek Nationality

Thanasi Kokkinakis parents Trevor Kokkinakis and Voula Kokkinakis were immigrants from Greek who settled in Adelaide.

Though Trevor had a huge role in helping in furthering his son’s tennis career, Trevor was strict with Thanasi when it came to academics.

In 2014, speaking to 9NewsAdel, Trevor instructed his son to return to Australia to complete his year 12 studies, which saw him withdraw from Wimbledon. Trevor said he hopes his son gets a no.1 tennis ranking, but his studies were important as a future in sports is uncertain because of injuries.

Trevor was right about the injuries, as most of Thanasi’s tennis career had been rocked by a series of injuries that affected his ranking. In 2022, Trevor when speaking to Greek Herald, Trevor touched on the topic of his son’s injuries.

Trevor said he was proud of the resilience his son has always shown on the tennis court. The 26-year-old has always been known for his sportsmanship, which Trevor says comes from his upbringing.
