Where Is Theophilus Brooks Today? 

Dispatchers discovered that Erica was dating Theophilus Brooks after questioning the neighbors. After six hours of questioning, he confessed. According to the police records, he was sentenced to 45 years in prison. Consequently, the 40-year-old is being held at Florida’s New River Correctional Institution.

The Glades County Grand Jury charged Theophilus Tawon Brooks with first-degree murder in connection with the passing of Erica Vassell in early June 2011. In November 2014, he admitted to the lesser charge of second-degree murder and was given a 45-year prison term.

As a result, the 39-year-old is currently a prisoner at the New River Correctional Facility in Raiford, Florida, where he will likely stay until his scheduled release on March 2, 2056.

Brooks picked up Erica and drove to the hotel after leaving the club. He shot her, then flung her body into the wilderness. She is not alive since he even ran the var over her body.

At age 21, Erica Vassell was a free-spirited, energetic girl who lived in Glades County with her family. According to her father, Erica had a very caring side regarding her family, especially her siblings. Four days later, on February 11, Erica’s body was discovered in a rural area about four miles from the club on the side of a lonely road near a sugarcane field.

The first person to see her that day in the early morning hours was a driver, who quickly alerted the police after determining the wrapped figure was a human. Erica was dressed, and there were no indications of a sexual assault either.
