Travis Hafner Wife Amy Hafner And Their Seventeen Years Of Relationship

Travis Hafner wife Amy Hafner is a former head cheerleading coach at Baldwin Wallace College. Travis married Amy in November 2006.

Hafner is a former player, and his partner is known as an “MLB wife,” so baseball has been a considerable part of the couple. He is a retired baseball player from Jamestown, North Dakota.

Travis was a first baseman and designated hitter in MLB. Hafner competed for the Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians, and New York Yankees as a left-handed batter.

He shares the MLB record for most grand slams in a season with six and has the most home runs of any North Dakota-born player. The Texas Rangers selected Hafner in the 31st round of the MLB Draft in 1996.

The Jamestown born made his MLB debut on August 6, 2002, for the Texas Rangers. The 45-year-old played his last match on September 29, 2013, for the New York Yankees ending his career with 213 home runs and a .273 batting average.

Travis Hafner and his wife Amy Hafner have been married since 2006. Amy shares three kids with Travis. 

Travis and Amy met for the first time in December 2003. They crossed paths when Amy worked at Westlake’s Five Seasons Sports Country Club. Travis joined the club after being transferred from Texas to the Indians.

Amy claims that she did not like Travis initially and had no plans of dating. However, the two first got to know one another while playing racquetball for a year and a half and remained friends before deciding to go on a date in April 2005. 

They Got Engaged In 2006

Travis Hafner and Amy got engaged in January 2006 after dating for nine months.

The former baseball player chose an eternity band with a 3.5-carat diamond ring from Tampa Bay’s Mavilo Wholesalers to ask Amy to marry him. Travis then spent the next two weeks trying to figure out how to propose to Amy.

The mother of three remembers that they were walking on the Rocky River beach in January 2006 when Travis was nervously hugging her. Then out of nowhere, he said that he had never been so sure of anything else and proposed to her. Amy was quite surprised before she said yes.

Their Lavish Wedding At The Hyatt Regency Cleveland

Travis Hafner was 29 and his fiance Amy was 26 when they exchanged vows in 2006.

The love birds initially intended a small wedding, but as soon as the guest list surpassed 250, they realized it wouldn’t happen. They accepted that and were happy to be surrounded by their loved ones during their biggest day.

The couple chose the Hyatt Regency Cleveland at The Arcade as the location for both their wedding ceremony and reception. Additionally, it served as a lodging option for Travis’ family from North Dakota.

They claimed that they chose this specific place due to its rich history and exquisite embellishments, like skylights in the lobby and golden ceilings. Amy’s mother and father finally walk her down the aisle.

Amy chose the first wedding gown she saw, a Henry Roth dress with lace and Swarovski crystal beading from The Perfect Bride in Rocky River. She tried about twenty different outfits but kept returning to the first one. Finally, she topped the gown with a rectangle veil made of Swarovski crystals and Henry Roth fingertip lace.

Amy wore her great-grandmother’s engagement ring on her right hand and borrowed diamond chandelier earrings from Mavilo Wholesalers.

Their marriage ceremony was attended by some of the biggest stars, including his teammates Grady Sizemore and Casey Blake, managers Eric Wedge and Mark Shapiro, coach Joel Skinner, Derek Shelton, and Carl Willis.

The Texas Rangers’ Hank Blalock, the Toronto Blue Jays’ John McDonald, and the wrestler Jerry “the King” Lawler were star guests on that special day. 

Amy Hafner Is A Writer

Amy Hafner is the creator of the SOAR journals and a writer. Hafner claims to be a spiritual person and a Bible Nerd. 

SOAR journals is a non-profit company creating tools to help study the Scripture and reflect. 

Talking to Andrea Vecchio in Apple Podcasts, she said she was a tomboy growing up and started working when she was 13. However, Amy stopped working after she got married to a baseball icon. The writer loved to play kickball growing up.

The Cleveland native comes from a Jewish family. As Travis was a Catholic and she was Jewish, she decided on a dual ceremony and an additional religious theme during her wedding.

She was born Amy Beekman as the eldest daughter in the family. She was raised in Cleveland and stayed there until Travis signed a contract with the New York Yankees in 2013.

They became parents for the second time after they had their son Trip on August 2, 2012. Travis and Amy welcomed their third son and youngest family member on June 14, 2015; the couple named him Knox.

The family of five is seen enjoying their time together. Moreover, the three young Hafners have developed a passion for sports and usually play baseball.

Blake, the firstborn, is currently thirteen, their second son is ten, and the youngest child, Knox, is seven.
