Katie Boulter just won one of the best matches of her tennis career, while her grandmother passed away two days ago due to old age.
She beat Karolina Pliskova, 6th ranked in the world, twice this week. She said that she received a call from her grandpa two days back, which hinted at the demise of her grandmother. She dedicated this win to her grandmother. May her soul rest in peace.
Kaite's grandfather, Brian, is currently with the family. They are saddened about the demise of the elder of the family. Katie Boulter honoured the memories of her deceased grandmother with a stunning and deeply moving Center Court victory.
With her first-ever third-round appearance, the world No. 118 from Leicester has more than earned her wildcard this year. Harmony Tan of France will be her opponent in the third round.
Katie Boulter elaborated on how important her grandmother had been in her tennis career at a young age after mentioning her passing during her post-match on-court. She said that it was a very tough match for her from many sides.

She dedicated her win to her late grandmother as Wimbledon was her favourite tournament. She would watch every match of the game on her television.
Kaite was born on August 1, 1996, in Leicester, England, to English parents David Boulter And Sue Boulter. Her mother was also a professional tennis payer who has represented the UK a few times in international tournaments.
At age five, Boulter began playing tennis, and at the age of eight, she played Great Britain in international tournaments. She has admitted that one of the things that motivated her as a child was beating her older brother, James Gartshore Boulter, a venture capitalist based in England.
On the ITF Women's Circuit, she has won four doubles and six singles. She climbed as high as No. 82 in the world for singles on February 18, 2019. She reached her highest position in the doubles rankings on December 31, 2018, at position 431.
