According to a separate statement from Bell Media, Omar Sachedina will take over for LaFlamme beginning on 5 September. In light of changing viewer patterns, the management characterized the decision to remove LaFlamme as a business choice going in a different route.
Lisa LaFlamme Did Not Leave CTV Because of Illness

Although LaFlamme’s resignation was unexpected, journalist and author Jeffrey Dvorkin, who has served as managing editor at CBC and vice-president of NPR, told CBC News that it represents how contemporary news organizations often handle replacements.
While abruptly terminating LaFlamme’s contract did cause an immediate backlash, especially given how well her show did in the ratings, he claimed that “ripping the Band-Aid off very soon” was probably better for CTV and parent company Bell Media.
