Elina is among the cast of the upcoming documentary series Hold Your Breath. The documentary follows Johanna Nordblad as she attempts to set a new world record for the most distance traveled beneath the ice in one breath.
The plot revolves around tenacity, bravery, and smashing records. This documentary seemed to have left us actually holding our breath. We were stunned by envisioning the diver’s experience in those frigid water.

Nordblad was also the men’s national freediving team’s captain and coach, training them for the World Cup which was held in Italy. Her current dynamic freediving record is 192 meters.

Johanna Nordblad is a designer, ice diver, and freediver from Finland. Before ice diving, Nordblad began freediving in 2000 and has since participated in World Championships with the world’s best freedivers.
In 2004, she broke the female record for freediving with fins (dynamic) by swimming 158 meters in 6 minutes and 39 seconds.
Nordblad fractured her leg in a bicycle accident in 2010. She was on the verge of losing her limb to necrosis three years later. Her doctor offered her a unique prescription that she couldn’t get at a drugstore: ice diving.
