Justin had many tragic incidents in his life, but his father’s loss troubles him the most. His father, Tim Lower, suffered a car accident on March 26, 2005, and passed away along with his son and Justin’s brother Chris.

The family felt a devastating shock as a significant family member passed away. Justin was only 15 years when the incident happened. He overcame the sadness and trauma of losing his father at a young age and worked hard to become a well-known player in golf.

Justin describes the accident as it happened in front of his eyes. According to him, Tim overshot as the car went off track, causing it to crash into a utility pole close to where Chris was sitting. Seatbelts did not restrain both. Tim passed away soon after Chris left the world after the collision.

A few days before the funerals, Justin recalls playing golf because his mother required him to leave the house. He engaged in solo play. Later, Justin found out that Tim had been traveling at speeds of more than 80 mph in a 55 mph zone and had a blood alcohol level of .23, which is over three times the legal limit.

Two months later, Justin shot 64 to win a one-day tournament in front of family and friends by seven strokes. He completed every fairway and green in regulation.

In the spring of his senior year of high school, he reached out to Ken Hyland, the golf coach at Malone University. The university is in Canton, just 15 miles from Canal Fulton. The school turned out to be the perfect fit for him. He was in the starting lineup his freshman year, although he admits to not living up to his potential in his first two seasons.
