Who Is Paapa Essiedu?
Paapa Essiedu is an actor who initially wanted to be a doctor growing up. However, Essiedu started to develop an interest in Shakespeare and was accepted to Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
In school, Paapa got to work with Michaela Coel, the first black woman to receive the Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series, Movie, or Dramatic Special.
In 2012, the actor joined the Royal Shakespeare Company to play in The Merry Wives of Windsor. Essiedu starred in the Royal Shakespeare Company productions of Hamlet and King Lear which were noted to be chilling contempt and cynicism.
Paapa began his television career in Russell T Davies' television film adaptation of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," Channel 4's "Kiri," and BBC's "Press."
Besides acting, Essiedu has also voiced Tunde in a drama called "As Innocent As You Can Get" and "Wide Open Spaces."
