1. Pippa Middleton and James Matthews
Pippa Middleton is an English socialite, columnist, author and Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridgeâs little sister. She recently got married to James Matthews, who is a British former professional racing driver, hedge fund manager and the heir to the Scottish courtesy title or Laird of Glen Affric.
The two announced their engagement in 2016 and wed in May 2017. Unlike her sister, Kate Middleton, she did not want to have a royal wedding. Instead, she opted for a more intimate gathering in a countryside setting back in Bucklebury. This, however, does not mean that the wedding was cheap. In fact, it is estimated to have cost upwards of a million dollars. Pippa donned a Giles Deacon ivory lace wedding gown which was custom designed just for her. In addition to this, it is reported that Pippa went through five trials before her wedding day to ensure that she got the chignon for her hair just right. To add to the glamor of the festivities, the bridal party arrived in a fleet of vintage cars while the guests were transported from a security check area to the venue using Land Rovers.
Pippa and Matthews wedding which was among the classiest social events of the year also featured acrobatic performances from Supermarine Spitfire. All this was done and no expense was spared to ensure that Pippa got the wedding of her dreams, even if it was not a royal wedding.
2. Tyrese Gibson and Samantha Lee
Tyrese Gibson is a Black American singer, songwriter, former fashion model, author, actor, television producer and MTV VJ. Some of his most famous roles include Jody in Baby Boy and as Roman in Fast and the Furious series. He married Samantha Lee in a secret wedding back in February 2017.
Samantha Lee is of Ecuadorian, Jamaican and African-American descent. She has a Masters degree in social work from the University of Georgia and makes six figures. Lee uses her Masters degree to help fight sex and human trafficking. She also advocates for inmates to receive counseling. The two first met through mutual friends in Atlanta and Leeâs first impression of Gibson was that he was attractive but that he was âTyrese.â They then met up two years later on an honest first date where Tyrese reassured her that he wasnât just about getting her in bed but that he was actually our to meet someone. The two also shared that they had been celibate for sixty days before getting married. They stated that they were born again Christians and made this decision as a result of their faith.
Gibson noted that he first wanted to keep the news about their Valentineâs Day wedding under wraps but that he ended up posting a slideshow on social media which got the attention of fans. There was a backlash over the fact that Lee wasnât Black American but this was clarified later. Although he deleted the posts later, he still continued to thank his fans for the congratulatory messages that the couple continued to receive.
3. Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski
Amanda Seyfried is an American actress and singer-songwriter. She began her career as a model and then became an actress in her teens. She appeared in television series such as Veronica Mars and in films such as Mean Girls and Dear John among others. She is well accomplished as a singer-songwriter and as an actress as well. Thomas Sadoski, on the other hand, is an American stage, film and television actor. He is best known for his role in the television series Life in Pieces where he takes on the role of Matt Short.
Seyfried and Sadoski got engaged in September 2016 when people noticed that Seyfried was wearing a silver band on her left ring finger. The two then got married in March 2017 in a very private ceremony. In fact, fans did not know about the wedding until later. According to Sadoski, the two went into the country with someone to officiate and got married. In an interview, Sadoski held up his left hand to show off his wedding band, which he was proud of. He described the ceremony as beautiful and everything it should have been. They wrote their own vows and shared them with each other, away from everyone else.
The two met on The Way We Get By on Broadway in 2015 while working together. They began their relationship after reuniting on the set of their upcoming film and confirmed their relationship in 2016. The two are also expecting their first child together.
4. Stevie Wonder and Tomeeka Robyn Bracy
Stevie Wonder has many feathers in his cap. He is a singer, songwriter, record producer and multi-instrumentalist. He and Tomeeka Robyn Bracy have been together for quite some time now. The two only recently welcomed their second child and Stevieâs ninth in December 2014. Wonder and Bracy have been together for a while, following his divorce from Kai Morris.
The two got married in July 2017 at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles. Most people did not know about the wedding prior to it happening. The ceremony is said to have been lavish and with a flair of excellence. Wonder and Bracy were surrounded by close friends and family at the wedding. A number of famous celebrities were also in attendance. John Legend, for example, was in attendance although it is not clear whether he serenaded the couple. Others such as Usher, Babyface, and Pharrell Williams definitely took to the stage and serenaded the couple at their special ceremony, much to the amusement of their guests. These performances came in time before Stevie Wonderâs big moment as he later took to the stage and sang a beautiful song for his bride as well.
This is the 42-year oldâs first marriage although she has two children from a previous relationship. She also had a son but he fell off a window when he was two years old and died. Unlike, Bracy, this is Stevieâs third marriage. He was married to Syreeta Wright who was a Motown singer-songwriter from 1970 to 1972 and then to Kai Millard from 2001 to 2012 although the two separated in 2009.
