Pippa Middleton is an English socialite, columnist, author and Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridgeâs little sister. She recently got married to James Matthews, who is a British former professional racing driver, hedge fund manager and the heir to the Scottish courtesy title or Laird of Glen Affric.
The two announced their engagement in 2016 and wed in May 2017. Unlike her sister, Kate Middleton, she did not want to have a royal wedding. Instead, she opted for a more intimate gathering in a countryside setting back in Bucklebury. This, however, does not mean that the wedding was cheap. In fact, it is estimated to have cost upwards of a million dollars. Pippa donned a Giles Deacon ivory lace wedding gown which was custom designed just for her. In addition to this, it is reported that Pippa went through five trials before her wedding day to ensure that she got the chignon for her hair just right. To add to the glamor of the festivities, the bridal party arrived in a fleet of vintage cars while the guests were transported from a security check area to the venue using Land Rovers.
Pippa and Matthews wedding which was among the classiest social events of the year also featured acrobatic performances from Supermarine Spitfire. All this was done and no expense was spared to ensure that Pippa got the wedding of her dreams, even if it was not a royal wedding.
