AJ Epenesa plays baseball and his girlfriend Mary Marusza played volleyball at Mercyhurst University Lakers.
Marusza played competitive volleyball for over eight years, partaking in the top college-level volleyball tournaments. Born on October 16, 1998, the 24-year-old beauty is one of four children of her parents, Bill and Kristen Marusza.
Epenesa’s partner Mary played volleyball at her high school in Nardin Academy, earned varsity letters all four years, and was named First Team All-Catholic. She then enrolled at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania, where she joined the college’s women’s volleyball team.
Mary did not have much impact on the university team for the first two years. However, in the 2018 season, she played 31 games and had an incredible year. The Orchard Park homegrown led the Lakers in assists 520 and second in digs posting 181 in 2019.
However, Mary no longer plays volleyball as she works as a Wealth Management Client Associate at Merrill Lynch. In addition, she completed a marketing internship with the corporation in 2018. She has now become a full-time employee and has been employed there for three years.
Her boyfriend, AJ Epenesa, was not even playing in NFL in 2019 when she made all these records for the Mercyhurst Lakers. He played in Iowa before Buffalo Bills drafted him in the 2020 NFL Draft.

She enrolled in two programs, Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising, beginning in 2016 and completed a four-year course in 2020.
Besides, she also participated in sports and extra activities and played volleyball with Mercyhurst University Women’s Volleyball Team. While studying, Mary began her internship at Merrill Lynch. She did a marketing intern for four months in 2018.
Mary also served as a sales associate part-time after graduating in 2020. Since June 2019, she has worked full-time at Merrill Lynch as a wealth management client associate.
She is very familiar with the MS Office package and is also comfortable with graphic designing software like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
