Auburn Quarterback Tj Finley Arrested On Attempt To Elude Charges
TJ Finley, the quarterback for the Auburn Tigers, is being held at the Lee County Detention Center on suspicion of attempting to flee the Auburn Police Department. As of Thursday, Finley was in custody, according to detention records.
After becoming the first college football player to sign a NIL agreement with Amazon to sell jerseys, hoodies, phone covers, and other products from his product line, Finely was arrested just a few days later.
In 2020, he started playing football for LSU. Finley moved to Auburn in 2021. For the 2022 season, Auburn has not yet selected its starting quarterback.

According to a report by WRBL-TV in Columbus, Georgia, Auburn quarterback T.J. Finley was being held at the Lee County Detention Center in Opelika, Alabama, on Thursday on a charge of attempting to flee the Auburn Police Department.
The information that led to the arrest of the Ponchatoula, Louisiana, native was not yet available to WRBL. In May 2021, Finley switched from LSU to Auburn, where he got a lot of playing time this past season. He was viewed as a serious contender to start as quarterback for the squad this year.

He had a completion percentage of 54.7 percent in 2021, throwing for 827 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception.

According to a source, Finley turned himself into Auburn police late on Thursday morning after learning that an arrest warrant had been issued for him. Along with true freshman Holden Gardiner, Oregon transfer Robby Ashford, Texas A&M transfer Zach Calzada, and Oregon transfer Robby Ashford, Finley was expected to enter fall camp as one of four quarterbacks vying for Auburn’s starting position this season.
The only returning member in the quarterback room is Finley, who switched to Auburn last summer. He played the Tigers’ final three games of the 2021 season after Bo Nix suffered a season-ending ankle injury. Finley completed 70 of 128 passes for 827 yards, six touchdowns, and an interception in nine games as a sophomore.
