Outside of her position at CNAS, Carrie Cordero has worked as an analyst for CNN since 2017.
In March of 2022, Cordero was given a seat on the Homeland Security Advisory Council thanks to a Secretary of Homeland Security nomination. In addition, the analyst is a member of the board of advisers at the American University Washington College of Law for the Tech, Law & Security Program.
After leaving her position in the administration, Cordero went on to work as the director of national security studies at Georgetown Law, where she also served as an adjunct professor of law from the years 2010 through 2020. In addition to that, she worked as a consultant in private practice, where she advised clients on matters including concerns of surveillance, law enforcement response, and privacy protection.
