Christian Fagan was born to his parents on June 22, 1961, in Queenstown, Tasmania.

He began his football career at an early age playing for local Tasmanian clubs. With clubs like Devenport, Hobart, and Sandy Bay, he capped 263 senior games in both Tasmanian Football League (TFL) and the Tasmanian Australian National Football League (TANFL), netting 430 goals throughout his career.
