Davis Love III Children: Son and Daughter Alexia Love With Wife Robin

Davis Love III has been wed to his partner of many years, Robin Love, ever since the two of them exchanged vows in November of 1986.

Since Davis did not begin his career as a professional until 1985, Robin has been by his side for the greater part of his accomplishments. These two have been married for each and every one of his 37 victories since he began his professional career.

Love and Helen are parents to a girl named Alexia (Lexie) and a boy named Davis Love IV (Dru).

Davis and Robin's house on St. Simons Island, Georgia, was destroyed by fire in March of 2020, despite the fact that they had relocated there in the early 1990s. The house the couple owned burned to the ground in barely half an hour, but fortunately, neither of them was hurt in the blaze.

The Davis Love Foundation was established in 2005 by Robin and Davis Love III. Its mission is to elevate the health and improvement of society by providing financial assistance to programs, both locally and nationally, that are geared toward the welfare of children and the families in which they are raised.

They currently run a tournament on the PGA Tour called the RSM Classic at the Sea Island Golf Club in Georgia, and all of the proceeds go to charity.

In 2003, there were speculations that the couple was about to split.

Nevertheless, Love had a very clever way of proving that these stories had no basis. In the midst of rumors that he was divorcing his wife in 2003, Davis devoted his victory at The International to his spouse on the green immediately following the event.

He confessed his love for her and assured her that everything would turn out okay in the end.

Davis Love III and his wife Helen have been blessed with a pair of offspring.

The children's names are Alexis (also known as Lexie) and Davis (also known as Dru). Both of these youngsters have a passion for athletics, with Dru becoming a professional golfer and Lexie being a talented horse rider.

Davis Love III's son Dru is a professional golfer.

In 2017, he had just completed his studies at Alabama and was about to turn professional when he found out on the Sunday before the U.S. Open that he had qualified as an alternate from the Georgia regional qualifying.

During the 2015–16 season, Love Junior participated in seven games, including winning a starting position in each of the team's last five events. Love Junior also made seven appearances off the bench.

Davis Love III was born on April 13, 1964, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Davis Love Jr. and Helen Love.

He was born a day after Davis Love Jr. had participated in the final round of the 1964 Masters Tournament.

Davis Love Jr. and Helen Love had been married for a day prior to the birth of their son. His father, a former professional golfer, and coach, who is renowned on a national level, was the one who got him curious about the game for the first time.

His mother is also a golfer and has quite a low handicap. In 1988, his father was one of the people who perished in an aircraft tragedy. 

Glynn Academy in Brunswick, Georgia, was where Love had his high school education, and he graduated from there in 1982.

Love passed his education from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, for his undergraduate degree in golf, where he was recognized as a three-time All-American and all-Atlantic Coast Conference performer.

During his time in college, he was victorious in six competitions, one of which earned him the title of champion of the ACC tournament in 1984.

Love began his career as a professional golfer in 1985, and he was successful in obtaining his PGA Tour card on the very first try.

This occurred in the fall of 1985. It took him no time to make a name for himself on the PGA Tour; in 1987, he won his first tour tournament, which was held at Harbour Town Golf Links and was called the MCI Heritage Golf Classic.

Later on, he would go on to win this competition an additional four times, which would put him in a position to create a new record for the most victories in a single tournament.

Davis Love III and Fred Couples achieved a record number of victories for the United States in the World Cup of Golf between 1992 and 1995. These victories set a new standard for the competition.

In the 1990s and early 2000s, Love was a constant contender and winner on the PGA Tour.

However, the triumph in the 1997 PGA Event, which was also his sole victory in a major championship, stands out as the most memorable of his career. It took place at Winged Foot Golf Club, which is located close to New York City, and just four of the field's competitors managed to finish the week with a score that was better than par.

The winning score for Love was 11 under par, five strokes better than the total posted by Justin Leonard, who finished in second place. As Love approached the 18th green for the final time in the championship, a rainbow emerged in the sky above him.

He made his birdie putt beneath the rainbow arch and won the tournament. Jim Nantz, an announcer for CBS Sports, recognized the link between the rainbow and Love's late father, Davis Love Jr., who was a well-known and well-liked person in the world of golf.

Davis Love Jr. had won a number of golf tournaments throughout his life. This triumph was the final major championship win that could be earned with a driver that had a wooden head.

In 1994, Love and his younger brother and caddy, Mark Love, established Love Golf Design, a firm that specializes in building golf courses.

The business is responsible for the design of a number of courses that can be found around the southeastern parts of the United States. Ocean Creek, his first trademark course finished in 1997, can be found on Fripp Island in the state of South Carolina.

Additionally, Love is responsible for designing the Dunes course at Diamante, located in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and is one of Golf Magazine's Top 100 courses worldwide.

In 1997, Love wrote the book Every Shot I Take, which paid tribute to the teachings on life and golf that his father had taught him.

The United States Golf Association later awarded the book the International Book Award. That year, he created and designed his golf course in Harnett County, which is located in North Carolina. In 2001, the course at Anderson Creek Club was recognized as the "Best New Course in North Carolina" and received an award for its excellence.

At the Children's Miracle Network Classic, which took place on November 9, 2008, Love scored his 20th victory on the PGA Tour, which qualified him for a lifetime exemption on the Tour.

Love was the United States team captain that competed in and ultimately lost the Ryder Cup in 2012. After winning the Wyndham Championship in 2015 when he was 51 years old, Love became the third-oldest victor in the chronology of the PGA Tour.

He was only surpassed in age by Sam Snead and Art Wall Jr. Because of this victory, Love holds the record for being the oldest player to win on the PGA Tour in the PGA Tour Champions era (since 1980).

Love joined Snead and Raymond Floyd as the only two players to win on the PGA Tour in the four decades since the Tour's inception. This achievement handed Love another prestigious PGA Tour honor.

Following a disappointing year on the FedEx Cup circuit in 2014, Love kicked off his career on the Champions Tour by competing in the Pacific Links Hawaii Championship.

The RSM Classic is Love's event, and he is serving as the tournament host. In 2015, the participant's son, Davis IV (also known as Dru), was granted a sponsor exemption into the competition but missed the cut. Love led the United States to victory at the Ryder Cup in 2016, which the United States took home.

After Davis was unable to qualify for the 2017 U.S. Open, he became Dru's caddy as the latter played in his first professional tournament. At the Father/Son Challenge held at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida, on December 16, 2018, Love and his son Dru came out on top to take home the title.

The United States team disclosed its six captain's picks for the 2022 Presidents Cup, which will be held at Quail Hollow, in response to the statement made by their counterparts.

Will Zalatoris, considered a lock to win the captain's choice, withdrew from the 2022 Tour Championship because of two herniated discs in his back. As a result, Captain Davis Love III was forced to cope with several unexpected challenges of his own.

In his absence, Love has chosen Jordan Spieth, Collin Morikawa, Max Homa, Billy Horschel, Cameron Young, and Kevin Kisner to represent Charlotte for the United States of America. 

They join the six automatic qualifiers, which are Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele, Sam Burns, Scottie Scheffler, and Justin Thomas, and bring the total number of men responsible for defending the dramatic victory at Royal Melbourne in 2019 to a total of 12. Tiger Woods will be leading the charge in this endeavor.

Love is noted for speaking in measured tones and has maintained an approachable demeanor throughout his career. He has also been mindful of his father's professional legacy. Direct yet maintaining a measured tone.

But when Love considers how financially successful the LIV Golf series has been financial, he realizes he needs to be more than simply a competent foot soldier. His statements had a fearless quality to them, including the notion that players may think about opting collectively not to compete in competitions in which LIV golfers feature.
