Devin Hester wife Zingha Hester is a Florida native who has chosen to be a homemaker. 

Devin and Zingha started dating in 2005 before marrying five years later in 2010.

Zingha Hester, age 39, was born on October 8, 1983. Since opening his Instagram handle in 2019, there isn’t a single year that the NFL player hasn’t wished his better half her birthday. 

A former elementary teacher, Zingha prefers to keep her life away from the public limelight. Though she has an Instagram handle, she has it in private mode. After five long years of dating, the couple decided to tie the knot on July 3, 2010. 

Having met her at the University of Miami, Devin was with the Bears when he decided to become a family man with his college sweetheart. He marked their 10th anniversary with a sweet tribute to Zingha on his Instagram handle.

The NFL legend shared a series of romantic pictures as he penned a short message for his partner of ten years. In an interview, Devin said he wanted to become a role model for young fathers out there and wanted to change the view with which people looked at NFL players.

The football player has fulfilled his promise, but it would not have been possible without the support of his better half. From attending their children’s school events together to accompanying her husband in all his events, Zingha has always put her best foot forward in both her roles. 

Recently the couple celebrated their youngest son Denali riding the bike for the first time. Though it might sound like a small thing, for little Denali, it will be a lifelong memory as he saw his parents cheering him on together.   

Devin Hester has three kids with one of them destined to become an NFL star.

The former Chicago Bears player Hester and his better half Zingha are parents to three sons, Devin Jr, Dray and Denali. Devin had seen many of his friends forced into playing the game by their parents when he was a kid, and the NFL legend didn’t want to repeat the same mistake with his children.

1. Devin Hester Jr

Devin Hester Jr, also known as D.J., is the oldest son of Devin and Zingha. Devin Jr, age 13, was born on November 9, 2009. And the teenager has already made it clear to his dad that he didn’t want to become a football player.

In the interview with The Athletic, Devin said his oldest son wasn’t interested in sports, and it was completely understandable for Devin. In 2019, D.J. was seen fishing with his family and even caught a big fry during the trip. 

But D.J. seemed to have found interest in sports after a few months after that the Athletic interview. Devin shared that his son had found a passion for track and field, which Devin’s father dominated during his heyday. 

2. Dray Hester

Dray Hester is a 10-year-old with the football scouts wrapped around his fingers. When his older brother would be watching lion king on his iPad, Dray would be watching his dad’s highlights on repeat. 

Now he has all the moves of his dad memorized. Zingha said Dray idolizes his father and is as particular as his father regarding his headband and wristband.

Devin opened an Instagram handle for Dray, nicknamed Ankle Bully, to post his game’s highlights. The clips quickly became viral, and now many are looking forward to the day Dray makes his NFL debut. 

3. Denali Hester 

Denali Hester, born on March 10, 2018, is the youngest son of Devin and Zingha. Devin calls Denali his twin and shared a sweet tribute for him on his fourth birthday.

Young Denali and his father were present in the Mercedez Benz Stadium as they watched the finals of the Peach Bowl game on January 1, 2023. He even saw his father honored by the chick-fil-A Hall of Fame committee at the event. 

Devin Hester comes from a religious Christian family with a background in sports. 

Devin Hester is the youngest son of his parents Lenorris Hester Sr and Juanita Brown. Devin grew up in Florida with his older brother Lenorris Hester Jr. Devin didn’t have the perfect childhood but considers himself lucky compared to many out there.

Devin lost his father, Lenorris Hester, a former track star, due to cancer at 33. Lenorris had divorced Juanita when the football player was a toddler. But his stepfather Derrick Brown, never let Devin or Lenorris Jr fill the absence of a father figure in their lives. 

One of the first football players in their family, Lenorris Jr, was a wide receiver at Florida International University. Unfortunately, his career came to an abrupt end due to a serious pelvic injury in 2002.

But the older brother had done enough to ignite the passion for the game in young Devin that saw him excel not only in football but also in academics. He later joined the University of Miami, where he became a touted prospect for the NFL.

At Miami, Devin met his future partner, Zingha, and now the pair are parents to three kids with all separate interests. His middle son, Dray, is already looking to walk in his father’s footsteps and create a name of his own in the footballing scene. 

The man who holds the NFL record for most career return touchdowns and is one of the most well-respected players among colleagues and fans, Devin’s legacy is not under any threat whether or not he is enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
