At the time of his death, he was in transit for his grandmother’s 100th birthday. He passed away from a heart attack in Los Angeles.

 

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Nick and Elaine Justen, as well as his maternal grandfather, Joseph DeMar.

He was part of the team that won the 2014 Motion Picture Editors Award for Best Sound Editing. Just before the time of his death, he was working on an upcoming OWN drama called Queen Sugar is premiered in September 2016, a month after his death.

According to Wikipedia, Eric Justen is a sound recording mixer who was born on August 25, 1972, in Woodstock, Illinois, USA. His parents were Rick and Mary Justen and his grandparents were Nick and Elaine Justen.

He had graduated from Columbia College in Chicago majoring in sound. He got married to Cassandra Suarez, In Maui on May 21st, 2016. Unfortunately, the famous re-recording mixer was never blessed by children.

An American sound recorder worked at various studios until getting a job as a post-production re-recording mixer at Warner Brothers, where he has worked for the past nine years.

Before going to television, he worked on over 100 films and television shows, including the original “The Wackness” and “The Fast and the Furious.” At that time his Net worth was $1.6 Million. 

Beginning in 2008, he worked on such series as “Psych,” “Numbers,” “Human Target,” “The Good Wife,” “Unforgettable,” “Pretty Little Liars,” “The Mysteries of Laura,” and “Elementary.” 

In 2014 their team won the Motion Picture Editors Award for Best Sound Editing. Justen had lastly worked on Queen Sugar, an OWN drama from Ava DuVernay and Oprah Winfrey. He contributed to many of today’s TV hits.

In 2016, just 14 days before his 44th birthday he passed away from congestive heart failure at LAX Airport.
