Evan and his brother Garyn were raised to be athletes by their parents. The two brothers followed in their father’s path and pursued football at a young age. Growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio, their father would coach them.
With both sons being all-stars in football, his parents had become experts in college recruiting. Already taking the trip with their older son Garyn, Gary and Lori had an easier time knowing what questions to ask coaches with Evan during their recruiting visits to Louisville, Purdue, Michigan State, and Miami.
Evan Prater Was Raised By Parents Gary and Lori Prater
Evan Prater was raised by father Gary Prater and mother Lori Prater in the city of Cincinnati.
His father played football in high school and college football in South Carolina and Tennessee as a tight end. Not only did he excel in football, but he was also a basketball player at Forest Park High school in the mid of 1980s.
Though his mother was not an athlete, she has a spectacular sports background. His maternal grandfather was a talented footballer of the 50s and had played for the team of Elder Panthers. Lori’s brother was a baseball player in the 1980s.
From an early age, Evan was interested in sports activities since he comes from a family of athletes.
Gary and Lori were blessed with their first son on September 21, 1999, and named him Garyn Prater. After three years, they give birth to Evan Prater as their second son. He was born on May 29, 2002. Evan was raised with his elder brother, Garyn Prater in Cincinnati, USA.
His parents drove from one college to another to find the perfect college for their two boys. In an interview with wyomingathletics, Lori said that they could feel what was genuine and what was a cattle call after visiting multiple colleges. In the end, the family decided on UC.
Gary and Lori Raised Two Footballer
Gary and Lori Prater raised two college athletes who are both footballers at the University of Cincinnati.
Their kids, Evan and Garyn Prater, started playing football together at a young age.
After they showed interest in sports at a young age, their parents have done everything they can to fulfill their dreams of being college athletes.
Following the dream of becoming a football star, Evan joined Bearcats football and successfully set Cincinnati records for passing yards, touchdowns, and completions.
Similarly, his older brother Garyn Parter joined Ohio State University in 2017 and continued his football career on the college team. As a sophomore, he played his three matches in early-season games. He appeared in the NCAA transfer portal since he did not play as a freshman at OSU.
Evan’s brother transferred from OSU and joined the University of Cincinnati to continue his further journey with his younger brother. In the interview after joining UC, Garyn said he was doing well in his previous team, but he and his family wanted to explore opportunities that presented themselves.
Evan was excited about having his elder brother with him. Besides football, the siblings have a great knowledge of basketball too. Evan had played basketball as a guard for Wright State and helped the team to win the match by scoring 17.3 points per match with 7.5 rebounds per contest.
Similarly, Garyn played basketball with his brother at the University of Cincinnati and scored 16.8 points per match with 6.2 rebounds.
