Freddie Flintoff Eating Disorder & Bulimia Battle- Health Update In 2022

Freddie Flintoff, age 44, has struggled with the eating disorder Bulimia since he was twenty years old. 

Former international cricketer Freddie Flintoff is an English television and radio personality. Flintoff led the England Under-19 squad on a “Test” match tour to Pakistan in 1996/7 and against Zimbabwe at home in 1997.

He made his England Test debut against South Africa at Trent Bridge in 1998.

Freddie Flintoff has been battling Bulimia, an eating disorder, since he was 20 years old. Bulimia is a mental health illness in which people gorge on food and force themselves to vomit, exercise obsessively, or take laxatives.

To feel less alone, Flintoff hosted Freddie Flintoff: Living With Bulimia, a documentary that was broadcasted on BBC One in 2020. In it, Flintoff speaks with several other men who also struggled with Bulimia.

The documentary addresses the stigma that surrounds males who suffer from this illness. 

In an interview, Flintoff opened up about how he had Bulimia since he was 20 years old. Despite the fact that he had been battling his eating disorder for a long time, he had never sought out treatment.

Flintoff declared at the end of the documentary how he’d like to seek help for it, something he had never considered before.

Freddie Flintoff Health Update In 2022

Freddie Flintoff gave an update on his health in his new book, in which he claims that he no longer has an eating disorder. However, he found himself getting addicted to his Peloton exercise cycle during the lockdown, which he claims is “in essence a sort of bulimia.”

The 44-year-old has put some weight back on after realizing his relationship with the bike was intense. He is now both healthy and happy, owing in large part to his decision to stop drinking.

Freddie also takes medications for depression. 

Before he received treatment, he confessed that he fretted about his weight almost every twenty minutes. It’s something that he had to deal with on a daily basis.

When he looked in the mirror, consumed his meal, or put on his clothes, he was vividly aware of it. It’s something he could not seem to get his mind off of.

Freddie Flintoff’s wife, Rachael Wools, claims he is a wonderful father to their four kids and is a family man. They married in March 2005 in Knightsbridge, London.

Wanting to have his family with him at all times, he tattooed the name of his wife and children on his left shoulder. Among his four children, Rocky Flintoff, Holly Flintoff, Preston Flintoff, Corey Flintoff, Holly is the oldest at age 17.

Freddie was born to parents Colin Flintoff and Susan Flintoff on December 6, 1977, in the City of Preston, United Kingdom. His father was a plumber and factory worker who also captained the Dutton Forshaw second XI cricket squad.

His brother Chris is also a former cricket player, and his father, Colin, continues to play for Whittingham Cricket Club in Preston.
