Harlis Kirimof has been charged with drug charges and possession of child abuse material. He is a Melbourne barrister and former university lecturer.

Kirimof was arrested last Thursday at his office in Owen Dixon Chambers Westis Lonsdale Street by members of the Joint Child Exploitation Team.

He joined the Victorian Bar Association as a practicing adviser in 2013.

He practices civil and commercial law in a variety of state and federal courts, including the Federal Court and the Supreme Court of Victoria, New South Wales, and the state.

Possessing child abuse materials carries a minimum term of ten years in prison, while drug possession carries a maximum sentence of fifteen years in Melbourne.

Melbourne Barrister: Harlis Kirimof Arrested On Child Abuse Possession

Harlis Kirimof was arrested by members of the Joint Child Exploitation Team after his order was carried out at his workplace in Owen Dixon Chambers Westis Lonsdale Street.

The 33-year-old male was charged with drug possession and child abuse material, according to a Victorian police spokeswoman.

On October 28, Kirimof will appear in front of the Magistrates Court. The Victorian Legal Services Board and Commissioner’s spokeswoman said that the board was aware of the charges, but declined to comment on whether Kirimof would be allowed to continue practicing law.

Kirimof was admitted as a practicing counsel to the Victorian Bar in 2013. He specializes in civil and commercial law, according to his online profile, and has worked in both state and federal jurisdictions

Harlis has worked as a sessional lecturer, mostly in the areas of equity, taxation, and evidence law.
