The following day, Bichette made his debut in Toronto and increased his doubles streak to nine games, breaking the previous MLB record. He also established a new MLB record with 13 extra-base hits in his first 11 games of the season. Since Ted Williams in 1939, he is also the only rookie with nine straight games with extra-base hits. He also established a franchise record with 20 hits and an 11-game hit streak with a 1.316 OPS. Bichette received his first career All-Star citation on July 4, 2021.

Bo Bichette’s Life Before MLB Fame

Bichette was born in Florida, like his brother and father. He was exposed to baseball as his father was a successful player in the league, and his brother also played baseball in MLB for a while. He spent most of his life in the state while growing up and started a mature career there.

However, Bichette never got a physical chance to go to school as he received his education at home. Despite not being educated in a school, he played baseball for Lakewood High School in St. Petersburg, Florida. He batted.569 as a senior, hit 13 home runs, and was awarded Florida’s Mr Baseball and the Gatorade/USA Today Florida Player of the Year. Bichette decided to enrol at Arizona State University and play collegiate baseball with the Sun Devils.

Before unavailing his talents in the MLB, he had already amazed baseball fans with his performance in the minor league. In the second round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, the Toronto Blue Jays picked Bichette 66th overall. He signed on June 17 for a $1.1 million bonus and said later that he turned down four offers during the draft to choose Toronto.

Following an injury to his belly, which was later identified as a ruptured appendix, Bichette was placed on the 7-day injured list after beginning the season with a.431 hitting average through 18 games with the Gulf Coast League Blue Jays.
