Is Ivan Nikolov Tattoo Really Racist? KSI Boxing Opponent Controversy And Backlash

Ivan Nikolov, KSI’s opponent, has been charged with being a Hitler supporter after photos of his allegedly racist tattoos surfaced online.

According to a statement released Wednesday, KSI will face two opponents the same night he returns to the ring on August 27. The rapper Swartz, who has never entered a call at any level, replaced Alex Wassabi, who was initially supposed to face the YouTube celebrity. Wassabi withdrew due to a concussion.

After receiving harsh criticism for the opponent switch, KSI decided to take on Nikolov the same evening they took on Swartz. Nikolov is a professional boxer from Bulgaria who has lost three of his 21 fights and has several tattoos that some fans believe to be Hitler’s follower emblems.

Is Ivan Nikolov Tattoo Racist?

There are other disciple symbols inscribed on Nikolov’s body besides the “white power” tattoo on his stomach. Nikolov has the words “Blood & Honour,” the name of a Hitler Follower skinhead gang founded in England in the 1980s, tattooed on his left forearm.

The group’s logo, the triskele, a three-pointed swastika, is also visible between the phrases. Another typical tattoo of the white supremacist kind is a Celtic cross encircled by a circle on the arm.

A Schutzstaffel logo is added to Nikolov’s body ink on his right arm. Hitler’s follower Party’s police and military organization, the Schutzstaffel, had members swear an oath of allegiance to former ruler Adolf Hitler of Germany.

When Nikolov was photographed shirtless at a football game in Bulgaria, apparently with other football hooligans, his tattoos were also made public. One image of Nikolov with his arms at his sides and more Hitler’s follower paraphernalia visible on a wall behind him demonstrates his disciple tattoos.

KSI Boxing Opponent Controversy And Backlash

On August 27 in London, KSI had intended to compete against two opponents on the same card: Swarmz, a rapper, and Ivan Nikolov, a 43-year-old Bulgarian journeyman boxer with a 3-16-2 record (0 KO). However, there is currently a significant amount of criticism around the latter opponent’s use of racist tattoos.

The most significant and most noticeable of Nikolov’s tattoos is a “White Power” tattoo that runs across his stomach, as shown in a video by YouTuber Kavos.

Others also have well-known disciple symbols. On any of this, there is just no space for argument.

This adds nothing to the event, and Nikolov adds nothing to the event in the first place. If they want to continue using the “two fights” marketing gimmick, any number of Europe’s available journeyman boxers could easily replace him.
