Jack Lisowski Has An Ukrainian Family And An American Wife Jamie Livingston

Jack Lisowski and his family are connected to Ukrainian heritage. Yet he plays professional snooker wearing an English bowtie and waistcoat.

To add to the racial admixture, Jack tied the marital knot to his wife Jamie Livingston, an American, in 2015. There is an accumulation of disparate genes in the Lisowski household. Ukrainian bloodline raised on English soil married to an American sassy, which is the ultimate racial concoction in the Lisowski family.

Jack Lisowski was born and raised on 25 June 1991 in Cheltenham, England. Born Jack Adam Lisowski, he has been associated with snooker for over a decade. Nicknamed “Jackpot,” his signature playing technique is a left-handed attack on a rival in the billiard.

When he was seven, he improvised snooker with a ping pong ball over a carpet. At a young age, his family got him tutelage from Nick Pearce, a former professional snooker player from England. At the age of eleven, he scored a maiden century break.

While Mitchell Mann bagged the 2007 Junior Pot Blac(k), he was a second to finish the tournament.  But at sixteen, he was diagnosed with cancer. Nevertheless, cancer could not tire his fighting spirits as he survived to become cancer-free, taking chemotherapy sessions. 

In 2022, people regard Jack as one of the most exciting players in the snooker game. In addition, Jack maintains high skill levels throughout the competition he participates. He has reached the finals of six tournaments but has never won. Nevertheless, he is a three-time ranking finalist and third recipient of the Paul Hunter scholarship.

Jack Lisowski Has A Ukrainian Family

Jack Lisowski can trace his family tree to Ukrainian origin. His father was born to a Ukrainian fighter who participated in the Second World War.

The war has repositioned Jack’s grandfather to different countries. But he chose to stay in England. That is, Jack’s grandparents settled in England and adopted English citizenship. So, there is a touch of Ukrainian roots in the Jack Lisowski family though they are staying in England. 

Jack was not a single child. He has a sister Lissy Lisowski.

The last name, i.e., Lisowski, is new to England and rings of Polish ancestry. People often ask Jack if he has a Polish lineage. He denied having Polish ancestors. However, Jack’s grandfather is a Ukrainian who fought in the Second World War. Over time, he got displaced to England. The young snooker player wants to take the matter into his hand someday and investigate his genealogy in detail. 

His dad often visits Ukraine to connect with his roots when the situation permits him. But now Ukraine is in a war, and the situation is uncertain. Nevertheless, Jack longs to visit Ukraine as soon as the dust settles. His parental heritage is close to his heart, and he laments all the terrible tragedies in the country. 

Jack publicly acknowledges he still has some Ukrainian inheritance in him. Borrowing his word, he is a “quarter Ukrainian.” To support the country following the invasion by Russia, he played the Gibraltar Open wearing a Ukraine badge.

But according to Jack, the World Snooker Tour had denied him to have the Ukraine flag attached to the waistcoat during a match in 2022. The World Snooker Tour released a statement to clarify its stance.

The statement expressed that the World Snooker Tour has always adhered to a policy of political neutrality. To maintain the policy, the Tour will not allow the sport to be used as a platform to push political agendas.

Jack Lisowski And His Parents Are Settled In England

Jack Lisowski was encouraged to play snooker by his parents. His parents settled in England after his paternal grandfather took refuge there after World War II.

His father took him to Nick Pearce after seeing his passion for snooker. His age was around eight when he met Nick, a former professional snooker player from Gloucester, England. Jack had seen Nick’s game only on TV before encountering him in person.  

Nick’s father, John Pearce, owned the Westgate club in Gloucester. He had allotted a part of the Club for the snooker game. Jack was born in Cheltenham, England. He finished his education at Chosen Hill School in Churchdown, Gloucester.

Nick’s professional skills honed his rough and raw ability admirably. He visited the Club for five straight years. On the first day only, John commented that Jack was good. Such encouraging words pushed him further.

In the junior section, the Pearces, along with coach Derek Ayland, nurtured Lisowski’s talent, and they were able to put together a very successful time in Junior level competition.

He was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a form of cancer, at 16 when he got his neck checked out after feeling lumpy in the throat. With his untiring nature, full support from family, and nine months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, he emerged cancer free.

Once cancer-free, he found himself advocating cancer cure and prevention. Additionally, he sits as the ambassador of the Teenage Cancer Trust. He also volunteers for Young Lives vs Cancer. He promotes and boosts their messages and stories on his Twitter account. 

Jack Lisowski Has Been Married To His Wife Jamie Livingston For Seven Years

Jack Lisowski and his wife, Jamie Livingston, celebrated their seventh anniversary in February. Their wedding was on 23rd February 2015.

While Jack is part Ukrainian, his wife is American. The two were pronounced husband and wife in a small, private ceremony in Cheltenham.

Their house was burglarized a week ahead of the marriage. Several precious items like a long gold necklace, a laptop, two iPods, a Prada belt, and a dish full of small change were stolen by 40-year-old burglar Marcus Fry. The police later apprehended Marcus.

The court slapped him with three and a half years of jail terms later. The event traumatized Jack so much that he could not play his best to qualify for the German Master tournament. 

Although his roots do not belong in England but in Ukraine, Jack is fond of British newspapers and magazines. The Times and the Zoo Weekly are his favorites.
