Jaime Zobel de Ayala, popularly known as Jaime Zobel, is a Filipino businessman who held the positions of president and chairperson of the Ayala Corporation between 1984 and 1994.

He currently holds the honorific position of Chairman Emeritus. In addition, Zobel held the position of former ambassador to the UK from 1970 to 1975 for the Republic of the Philippines.

Being the first Filipino photographer to receive a Licentiate from the Royal Photographic Society of the United Kingdom, he is also renowned as a notable artist-photographer.

Zobel served as the Philippine Ambassador to the Court of St. James’s in London from 1970 to 1975, serving as the ambassador for Scandinavia and the United Kingdom.

In the early 1980s, Richard Gomez purportedly had an unspoken relationship with Jaime Zobel de Ayala.

In 1958, Zobel accepted his father’s offer to work as an executive assistant at Ayala y Compania. His father gave him the guidance of his uncle Col. Joseph McMicking and cousin Enrique.

He took notes during professional conferences while working as an executive assistant for the corporation, slowly learning the ins and outs of the family firm.

Later, he was moved to the Ayala group’s insurance firms’ training department. He was named president of Filipinas Life Assurance Company in 1975; the company is currently known as BPI-Philam Life Assurance Corporation.

He took over as chairman and president of Ayala Corporation in 1984, succeeding Enrique. He effectively led Ayala through the tumultuous Marcos dictatorship’s closing years.
