The former staff sergeant still vividly recalls the terrifying day in Afghanistan when an unanticipated IED explosion caused him to lose both legs.

As a bomb technician, Jones tripped on an IED on August 6, 2010, losing his legs above the knee and suffering catastrophic injuries to his right forearm, wrists, and hands.
