Gret Glyer, 32, the CEO of DonorSee was discovered shot inside his Fairfax home on June 24, 2022.
DonorSee is an organization, an internet platform that donates to the people in need and the donors can watch their contributions and the impact of their donation through videos. Glyer had the major objective to create an international network of aid for the world’s poorest people.
Sadly, he was brutally killed in his own residence, and for his murder, Joshua Danehower has been taken into custody. He was arrested in connection with the murder of a nonprofit CEO who was discovered dead in his Fairfax home.
Gret Glyer Murder Suspect Was Arrested
Gret Glyer’s death was verified, and authorities were investigating the incident as they believed it was a homicide. According to the police, they were called at 2:57 in the morning by an adult resident who reportedly heard shots in the 9800 block of Boston Village Court.
Today, after five days, Joshua Danehower has been detained by the police in relation to Gret’s murder. Back on that day, on Friday, when police officers arrived at the location at around 3 a.m, they discovered 32-year-old Glyer dead from gunshot wounds.
Furthermore, she stated during a press conference on Wednesday that Glyer was asleep in bed when Joshua Daniel Danehower, 33, of Arlington, Virginia, shot him multiple times in his sleep. His wife was sleeping right next to him.

Gret was a man with a heart of gold who used his website DonorSee to raise money to support the needy. The father of two started his charitable work after he went as a teacher in Malawi and saw the people who could use help.
After his cold murder, his family and wellwishers issued a statement reading “We never stop grieving the passing of Gret Glyer, our illustrious founder and friend.”

Joshua Danwhower, the culprit has been detained in connection with Gret Glyer’s murder. The police officers claim that the two of them were acquaintances, but they did not know anything else about them.
On the night of the crime, Glyer’s wife reported the shooting by calling 911 and according to the Police’s radio audio, they received information from her saying her husband had been shot and she thought someone had entered the home.
Fortunately, Glyer’s two young children who were present at home at that time were unharmed. His youngest son is about to reach 6 months soon.
Police have claimed to have discovered an open rear entrance to the house, but they have not yet disclosed whether they had found any traces of forced entry or retrieved any weapons from the site.

After Glyer’s death, people can now make an effort to solicit donations for Gret’s wife Heather and their two small children if anyone wishes to support them.
As of now, over 40,000 USD has been raised for the project, while over 100,000 USD has been raised at the family’s GoFundMe page, separately.
