Ken Dilanian’s wife is Catherine Yoon, and they got married in May 2003. His wife currently works as an executive assistant for The Washington Post and previously worked for the Smithsonian Institution. They have two children together named Sons Kenneth III and Maxwell.
Right after finishing college, he began working in print journalism. From 1991-1994, he worked for the Philadelphia Inquirer; from 1994-1995, he worked for the Fort Worth Star; and from 1995-1997, he worked for the San Antonio Express-News.
In 1997, he returned to the Philadelphia Inquirer, where he remained for the next ten years. During his time there, he worked as an investigative reporter, a political reporter, and a Rome correspondent.
He currently is working for NBC News as their Intelligence and National Security off-air reporter. He often provides commentary as an expert in the field.
