Kimberly Birrell Parents John Birrell And Ros Birrell Are Former Tennis Players

Kimberly Birrell parents John Birrell and Ros Birrell are former professional tennis players.

Kimberly was born in Dusseldorf, Germany, to Australian natives John and Ros Birrell. During her birth, her father was working as a coach. A few years later, they decided to move back to Australia.

John Birrell Has Coached Tennis in Europe 

Kimberly Birrell’s father John started working as a head coach at Pat Cash’s Tennis Academy when she was three years old.

John has played a huge role in making her a successful tennis player. He has more than 30 years of experience in coaching and has worked with many pro players at WTA and ATP.

His contribution to the tennis world has earned him a qualification at Tennis Australia Junior Development in Advanced Level 2 & Level 3 coaching. 

Besides Australia, he has also coached in different European countries for more than ten years. In Tennis Australia, he is involved as a Talent Development Coach.

In 2008, John started managing the Queens Park Tennis Center which has trained multiple athletes in Australia. 

He has been an owner of Tennis Plus at Queens Park for fourteen years. It is more like a family business and works there with his wife Ros, along with other employees. 

Ros Birrell Is A Former Athlete

Kimberly Birrell’s mother Ros Birrell is a manager at Tennis Plus. She has a degree in Teaching and Physical Education.

Ros has even taught overseas. One of her fun facts is that she never misses a lob while playing tennis. 

On Mother’s Day in 2021, Kimberly posted a picture with her mom and mentioned that she has taught her a lot about hard work.

Kimberly Birrell family consists of Australian athletes heavily involved in sports. Birrell grew up with younger brother Cade Birrell.

While growing up, she was never forced to play tennis but since she was grown up in an environment where her guardians were avid tennis players, Kimberly became interested in the sport at a young age. 

Members from both sides were big-time tennis lovers. Her grandfather even built a tennis court at their own farm in Blayney, NSW, to support his daughter Ros’s passion for the game.

Kimberly Birrell Brother Is A Junior Coach At Tennis Plus

Kimberly Birrell brother Cade Birrell is a student at Griffith University. Cade will graduate in 2024 with a business degree.

Kimberly and Cade were born two years apart. Like everyone in the family, he is also a tennis player. He has been working as a Junior Coach at his parent’s club, Queens Park Tennis Club, since January 2018.

He has also received a ranking as a Top 100 Australian Ranked Tennis Player.

Cade is currently dating a girl named Sarah Turner, and they have been together for a year. 

Kimberly Birrell boyfriend Matt Fraser is a Competition Manager for UQ Sport Tennis Teams. Kimberly and Matt started dating in 2020.

Matt did his bachelor’s in Musical Studies from the University of Queensland and he has been actively working at UQ Sport since 2017. As per his LinkedIn, his first position there was working as a Customer Service Officer.

Since they began their relationship during the midst of the pandemic in 2020, Matt has come to her house multiple times. He has already received blessing from Kimberly’s parents and has built a great rapport with them.

Kimberly and Matt celebrated Christmas together in 2020 at her place in Gold Coast. They uploaded pictures of their trip to Portugal during the summer of 2022. 

Similarly, they also watched live music together at Sandstone Point Hotel back in November 2020 with other friends.
