Lil Tjay's Parents, Siblings, And Ethnicity
On April 30, 2001, Tjay was born in Bronx, New York. The singer is the eldest of three siblings and was brought up by a single mother.
As per him, he grew up in a "roomy" apartment and had a difficult childhood among the three children, and he was the one frequently caught up for small thefts and conflicts at school.
Lil belongs to an all-American ethnicity, while his mother originates from Ghana. Even though he presented himself as a nice kid at home, he used to involve in fights outside of his house.

The singer was once arrested for a robbery he attempted at the age of 15, which led him to serve a year in a juvenile detention facility in New York. At this very time, Merritt started writing raps and even published one of his famous tracks, "Resume."
