Charlbi passed away in a hospital in New York City, but no information has yet been released. Dean and fellow model Ashton Schnehage survived an automobile accident in October 2008.

She suffered a broken wrist, four ribs, and a ruptured lung. She underwent life-saving surgery at Milnerton Medi-Clinic and was hospitalized. After the accident, she took a break from her career.
