Margueritte Aozasa husband Mykell Bates is a youth soccer coach from LAFC Academy. Margueritte and Mykell got married on December 18, 2021.

Aozasa married the man she had dated for seven years in the same month she got hired as the head coach at UCLA. Before making it to UCLA, she trained the Stanford women’s soccer team from 2015 to 2021. 

Likewise, Bates is also an athlete turned coach who played for Santa Clara University during his college career and served as its assistant coach for a few years. Moreover, Bates also received a birthday message from MVLA Soccer Club, where he has worked since 2013, on April 16, 2018.

Mykell Bates Is In LAFC Academy

Mykell Bates is a youth soccer coach and currently works with the LAFC academy.

A graduate of Santa Clara University, Mykell served as the college’s volunteer assistant for a year and was named the men’s soccer assistant coach in January 2019.

Likewise, he also worked at the Mountain View Los Altos Soccer Club since 2013 and trained the U-17 Silicon Valley Soccer Academy. The coach has been the founder and trainer at Legacy Soccer since 2015, per his LinkedIn profile.

Bates was also an athlete in his prime, having spent a four-year standout career at Santa Clara. As a college athlete, he was a two-time captain on the 2010 and 2011 squads, and he also captained the U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team in 2007. 

Similarly, Margueritte was also a four-year starter at Santa Clara University and coached the Mountain View-Los Altos Soccer Club for years. Moreover, Aozasa got assigned as the 6th head coach in UCLA women’s soccer history in December 2021, the same month she married her man.
