The former Studio 54 Club owner Mark Fleischman who suffers from a severe illness, has chosen to commit a legal suicide which will take place on the 13th of June 2022 in Zurich.

Furthermore, Fleischman will get cremated in Switzerland, and his ashes will be forwarded to his wife Mimi in California, according to The New York Post. Moreover, it has been his own decision, and no one forced it on him.

Mark Fleischman suffers an undiagnosed illness that has caused the loss of balance in his body; he has been suffering the medical issue since 2016 and now uses a wheelchair.

The first symptoms he suffered were his legs dragging, but neurologists couldn’t identify the cause of the condition to date, and now he can’t walk, his speech has messed up, and he can’t do anything by himself.

Furthermore, his wife helps him get to bed, dresses him up, and puts on his shoes. The once fit, healthy owner of New York City’s infamous Studio 54 club has been struggling to live his life as he is unaware of the disease he suffers.

Mark is a married man who tied the knot with the love of his life, Mimi Fleischman, in 1994 at the Los Angeles outpost of Tatou; the pair have been married for more than two and a half years half-decade.

Fleischman first met his better half in New York City during the 1970s, and she is his second wife, as per The New York Post. Furthermore, the couple has no biological kids.

However, the former Studio54 owner has a daughter Hilary from his previous marriage to Laurie Lister in 1986. Likewise, Mimi appears to have two children, Adam and Juliet, from her past relationship. 

Moreover, they also partnered to open the hip-hop-centric Century Club in Los Angeles after tying the knot, and they have always remained by each other’s side through thick and thin.

The net worth of Fleischman might be at least $10 million to $30 million or even more than that for being a businessman who owned the Broadway theatre and a former disco nightclub from 1981 to April 1986.

The businessman also enlisted in the US Navy Officer Candidate School in the early 1960s, ran the officers club in New Jersey at a naval base, and later was released from service.

Mark also overtook the Forest Hills Inn near the Forest Hills Tennis Stadium in his mid-20s with his father’s investment. Furthermore, he partied hard at Studio 54, and that’s how he met the former owners, Ian Schrager and Steve Rubell. When Ian and Steve got convicted of tax evasion, he brought the club to sell it to a new owner later. 

Mark Fleischman’s Saying On Suicide

Mark has decided to end his life legally as he doesn’t have balance, drops things, and is unaware if his body is in space. The businessman can’t do anything by himself and needs constant care from his wife, so he has decided to commit legal suicide.

The former Studio 54 owner has attempted to take his life before but couldn’t succeed, and he had thought of ending the misery for the past two years. So, he and his significant other contacted Dignitas, a company founded in 1998 devoted to helping people commit suicide who suffer from terminal or severe physical or mental illnesses.

The Swiss company will carry his wish to end his life on the 13th of July 2022; Fleischman will fly to Zurich via a business class with Mimi on the 8th of July, and they will stay in a beautiful resort on the lake. The 13th of July will be his last day after he will take a drink provided by Dignitas. Hopefully, he will have it easy and have a healthy and comfortable lifestyle in his next life.
