The football coach Matt met his former partner Michelle at Indiana University and was friends throughout their time at IU. The pair dated for a year and got engaged when Canada finished his graduate assistant job.
They eventually got married in 1996 and welcomed two kids, a son and a daughter, who are adults. Before getting divorced, they lived in Sycamore, per Northern Star, and their children grew up around incredible athletes.
Tori Canada Works As An Account Executive
Matt daughter Tori Canada serves as an account executive at Edelman Smithfield.
Before that, she worked as a strategic communications associate at Finsbury Glover Hering North America and freelanced as a communication consultant.
Likewise, she was also a special assistant who managed events for Jaime Harrison for the U.S. Senate in 2020, and did her Congressional Intern at the United States Senate, Office of Mike Rounds (South Dakota) in 2018.
Canada graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2020 with the highest honor and was also the university ambassador. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and got selected as the state’s top PR student.
Chris Canada Is An Offensive Graduate Assistant Coach
Chris Canada is the youngest child of Matt and Michelle. He attended Cardinal Gibbons High School.
Chris walked in his father’s footsteps. He played varsity football at Fuquay-Varina High School and became the offensive graduate assistant coach at his alma mater, East Carolina University.
His first game as a student coach was on the 3rd of September 2021, and his parents were there to support him in his new journey. Erin shared the moment expressing how proud they are on her social media.
The assistant coach is also on social networking sites but has shared his attachments with only his close friends and family. He is on Instagram and Twitter under the handles @chriscanada8 and @Chris_Canada12.
Matt Is A Family Man
Matt Canada is very dedicated to his family of four living in Pittsburgh in the state of Pennsylvania.
Matt was born to parents Bob and Ann Canada, in New Palestine, Indiana, in 1972. His brother and his parents have not left their hometown. His dad Bob used to cook pork burgers before the homecoming game up until a few years ago.
He has married twice, first to Michelle and then to Erin Canada. He has no children with his second wife.
Per The Advocate, the football coach has prioritized his partner and kids since his first marriage. He always does what’s best for them and spends quality time with them.
The Canadas moved from North Topsail Beach to Pittsburgh in 2020 when Pittsburgh Steelers hired him as their quarterback coach on the 15th of January 2020. He got promoted to Steelers offensive coordinator on the 25th of January 2021.
They also have two adorable dogs, Lorelai and Layla, whom they love and always include in family pictures. Layla turned three on the 2nd of September, 2022.
