Who Is Michael Knighton Wife Rosemary Knighton? Businessman Interest Over Buying Manchester United

Former Manchester United director Michael Knighton is preparing a hostile bid to buy the club from Glazers.

As mentioned in the Sports Bible, Businessman Michael Knighton is interested in buying Manchester United FC.

Knighton is a popular name in football due to his involvement with English football clubs. He is the former Director of Manchester United and owner of Carlisle United. In addition, the Englishman is an artist who has invested in multiple businesses.

The businessman first came to recognition for his failed £20 million bid to buy the Red Devils. He is again linked to the English Giant after the Glazers came under fire for their club management.

Manchester United FC, in recent years, under the Glazers, has not shined out properly compared to their bitter rivals Manchester City and Liverpool. They had recently started their new campaign with a 2-1 home loss against midtable side Brighton.

With problems in the club's performances, Glazers have come under fire for not making good transfer market purchases. Fans now demand adjustments to the team and good internal management.

Businessman Michael Knighton Interested In Manchester United

Knighton is preparing for a hostile bid to purchase Manchester United, says many sports news outlets.

In his recent interview with the YouTube channel Man Utd The Religion, he hinted at his interest in purchasing the club.

He spoke of the Glazer's protest and said: 'Of course, they will oppose, and quite rightly. It's the only way that they can vent their frustration and dissatisfaction, and they will hope that the current ownership sits up and finally listen, and ultimately decide to sell their shareholding.'

He also insisted that his team is processing well and continuing to talk to the people about the finances.

Knighton said: 'We are now working on the offer paper. Remember, it is a hostile bid - the club is not officially for sale. But I intend to show these owners a fair, potent, and commercial offer to say: 'You have run out of the road; it's time to go because your time is up.'

The 70-year-old former Dev il's director was close to buying the club in 1989. However, his compelling strategy to purchase the club fell through. At the time, he had made a £20 million takeover bid for the club, a second-record figure for a British club.

The former director promised to spend around £10 million on Old Trafford. But he pulled back after the purchase deadline came near. Ultimately, he abandoned his proposal for control in exchange for a seat on the board.
