Who Are Nadhim Zahawi Parents?
55 years-old politician was raised by his Kurdish parents in Sussex, the South East England county, instead of Iraq.
Zahawi has kept his parents' identity a secret. As a result, no information about them has come to the internet. But speaking with BBC, he gave away something of his traumatic past. "I would have been drafted into the Iraqi army, had to go to the front line, and probably die."
His family was well-connected and highly respected in Iraq.
Zahawi's grandfather was the governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, and his signature appeared on the country's banknotes. Later, Zahawi's father, a local businessman, had a small feud with the authorities of Saddam Hussein and was forced to flee from Iraq and located to Britain.
