Lilia Valutyte was a nine-year-old girl killed by stabbing in Boston. The Lincolnshire Police identified her, and the senior officer had called the death of Lilia “an utter tragedy.”

In connection with a murder investigation, two people have been detained after what the police call an “isolated incident.” Chief Superintendent Kate Anderson of the Lincolnshire Police said, “Our thoughts are with Lilia’s family and friends.”

Boston’s flags are at half staff, and Paul Skinner, the borough council’s leader, declared the town to “unite in mourning.” Following the death of innocent Lilia, everyone on social media has expressed their deepest condolences. 

Police would not confirm whether those detained were adults or juveniles or what crime they were being held on suspicion of. However, the policing minister has been contacted, according to Matt Warman, the Conservative MP for Boston and Skegness, to ensure that national support is available for the homicidal investigation.

Warman wrote on Twitter on Thursday evening: “Profoundly shocking news in Boston this evening. “I have spoken to senior officers locally and am hugely grateful for all the emergency services work.

“I have also been in contact with policing minister Tom Pursglove to ensure that any national help that might be useful is made available as quickly as possible.”

As of now, the police have not disclosed any details regarding those two suspects they arrested. However, the police department might gather information and confirm the issue before sharing a vital link to the case.

A police car was spotted on either side of an alleyway at the scene later Thursday night to block off the area from the public. Before police left early on Friday, two forensic officers in white suits were seen working at the scene.

The leader of the Boston Borough Council, Paul Skinner, stated: ‘The town is united in mourning following the unfortunate and tragic death of a nine-year-old girl in Boston. ‘We can’t for one second imagine the pain the family and the young girl’s friends are going through, and our heartfelt condolences go out to them.’
