Gbaja-Biamila was a three-year starter at San Diego State University. He concluded his time with the Aztecs, surpassing the previous 26 held by ex-Packer Mike Douglass. He was selected to the conference’s first team in his final three seasons. He received a business administration degree at graduation.

During his tenure at SDSU from 1996 through 1999, Kabeer amassed a school record of 33 sacks. He was chosen for the all-conference team three times and played for the Green Bay Packers in the NFL. On December 17, while the Providence Academy’s private Christmas pageant was being performed, he and his two pals were detained following an altercation at the Assembly of God Church in Green Bay. 

The Green Bay Press-Gazette once quoted Gbaha-Biamila stating, “They utilized the sons, the children, to oppress the guy, and the lady reigns over them so that the man walks in mistake.”

 He continued, “They used the boys, the children, to say it’s OK for my kids to disgrace their father.

Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila’s younger brother Akbar Gbaja-Biamila is a football star in his own right. His brother played professional American football in the National Football League (NFL) until 2008.

Gbaja-Biamila’s brother participated in San Diego State University’s collegiate football program before beginning his professional career.

From 1998 until 2002, he was an outstanding linebacker for the Aztecs. He wreaked havoc on rival teams with current NFL linebacker Kirk Morrison as a senior in 2002, earning him All-Mountain West Conference honors. He participated in the NFL for four seasons, spending two with the Oakland Raiders.
