Gbaja-Biamila was involved in an incident on December 17, 2019, in which he came dangerously close to being detained.

On December 17, while the Providence Academy’s private Christmas pageant was being performed, he and his two pals were detained following an altercation at the Assembly of God Church in Green Bay. 

The Green Bay Press-Gazette once quoted Gbaha-Biamila stating, “They utilized the sons, the children, to oppress the guy, and the lady reigns over them so that the man walks in mistake.”
